6' Tall Donkey Kong Country Display/Nordic Quest Controller

I purchased these in a big video game lot from a collector as a gift to my husband 2 years ago, so I have no idea what they are worth by themselves. DK is not the motorized one. Condition is pretty good, there's some curling on the edges but nothing absolutely awful. The NordicQuest SNES/Genesis controller is in original box. Husband got some unexpected news about transfering to a new state for work so we're putting a lot of our extensive collection on the market. These are the only 2 things we're kind of scratching our head on value wise.

Also it doesn't look like DK can fold up at all, does that sound right? Was he originally shipped to the store in one piece? I worked in the electronics department of TRU for 5 years and I know getting in tall ass displays was not uncommon. Shipping this to someone is going to be a bitch isn't it? Hopefully someone local will want it. Thanks in advance guys, long time lurker first time poster.

  • Just from those lines on the standee it looks like it was, and can be folded. I can't imagine them making and shipping those things complete and set up like that. Wouldn't really make sense. And I can't see the controller picture but do you mean the Nordic Track controller. I've heard of it and it seems like it might be a pretty collectible piece but no idea on a value. As for the standee I'd guess the right person might pay $100-$150 for it.
  • Hmm 100-150 seems low. Yeah the NordicQuest is the Nordic Track controller but I've never actually seen a sale price for one. Guess we might just throw it up on ebay and see what happens. It's definitely one of those bizarre/pointless accessories that seemed to cloud the market in the 90s.
  • Cool item, not sure on value but I'd say your definitely closer to the $300-$500 mark because of the size and popularity of donkey kong.

In the world of vintage and antique advertising, big is actually a detractor of value. It's a really cool piece, but $300-$500 is a tough sell. You could have just about any SNES sign, display or advertising piece on the market for that price.
  • I have the DK display too, I bought it for $50 and was offered $200 by someone on here. I love DK too much too sell it though
  • The standard is worth between $100 and $200. Cardboard damages easily
