how does it know if you use the wheel or not? how else can you play?
It just knows if you have the controls set to "wheel". You don't HAVE to use the wheel attachment at that point, but the control scheme and mechanism are the same.
i played a good bit off line got 3 stars in most of the races now. mirror mode is a nightmare to get 3 stars in. seems like no matter how far ahead you get everyone is right on your heels by the finish

yea im having the worse run of luck the last few days. i cant get a break. even when im in last place i get the thunder cloud. guess it must be my turn ive got the thunder cloud at leat twice in each of the last 100 races ive raced.
Ive had such a run of bad luck online im just going to try to get three stars. Thing I dont like about the online is if you dont jump out into a big lead you constantly get ran over by the star or bullet bill. and when i get in front i get hit by something before my item even registers. I wish nintendo would seperate the races between those who use the wheel and those that dont

hehe, had a good time friday evening. I saved 3 red shells for you right at the end of one race, but you probably had the best of me overall. Was there anyone else from here playing?

yes it is very hard, especially on 50cc... you literally cannot make mistakes, you must stay on the track at all times and not hit anything...
edit: as you have knowticed i only have a 2 star ranking... my bro played this like it was a full time job to get the 3 star ranking.. LOL..
