Cat Pee Spray on electronics?
I havn't tried it yet but I have been using dryer sheets on a peed on toploader (peed on by cats lol), to no avail. The problem is that some of the pee got inside the system... I got this bottle of cat pee spray stuff (Urine Away I think it's called) and was wondering if this is safe for electronics?

I have washed PCBs with soap and water before and as long as I immediately rinsed with a high percent IPS, you wouldn't have known if I told you.

I wouldn't risk it. It was suggest to me at one point to clean a corroded MOBO with lemon juice, and then alcohol to evaporate any left over moisture.

One of my cats trashed my graphics card that way (largest target behind the side vent.) Didn't realize what happened til I opened the case, and P U. Nothing like that smell..
Pulled it, worked fine. Cleaned the card meticulously and still dead. Probably best to just get a new one sadly. I could never get that smell out of that case. To this day, I still have a neutered gaming PC thanks to that damn cat.
Also learned that day that female cats can and do spray (caught the little turd at it one more time.)

Dunno if the contact spray will be enough to get the cat piss out of it though. Might be a lost cause at this point, or sell it to Paul to use in his barn if it still works.
Before you do this make sure you flip the power button on and off a few times with it unplugged to flush the caps of any built in electronics. You will be fine.

This is the stuff I use:
If you spray it on electronics, it evaporates rather quickly, even better than alcohol does. It's also okay to use on the plastic shell and is safe to use cleaning PCBs.
I use this stuff over alcohol any day.

Classy is an understatement, every morning he powders his nose, goes out for some tennis, then has his chaffuer drive him around in his rolls royce. But hey, good thing is I pay him $200 rent a month and i get to crash on the couch in his study, so he's a nice cat i guess

yes...thats the stuff. works great but i dont know if it will get rid of the smell.
You could coat the board in gold contact spray, and then soak the plastics in some soapy Dawn water.
Dunno if the contact spray will be enough to get the cat piss out of it though. Might be a lost cause at this point, or sell it to Paul to use in his barn if it still works.
It's a barn now? I thought it was a toolshed that's all magical and full of wonder.

yup.. that's pretty good stuff. i got a MB with soda everywhere. and after cleaning it with QD it was like new. idk if the smell will go away..
