New from Illinois
New here from Illinois, started collecting about a year ago. My names james,
I currently have about 48 games, a few duplicates. I have a few shops I visit frequently to get games. My most recent find was bubble bobble for $4. I mostly get lucky and ask everyone I know if they want to get rid of their old games. Anyone else have any tips for finding games; or perhaps anyone from Illinois know any resale shops?

The places I frequent the most are in the suburbs near Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
Cash Convertors at Roselle Rd and Golf Rd,
Disc Replay at Roselle Rd and Golf - Opposite corner of cash convertors,
and GAMES CD and DVD, off Roselle Rd, about a block away.
They tend to have a skim selection, but once and awhile you can get some good deals. I bought Chip and Dale and Marble Madness at Cash convertors for about $2 a piece. I got the bubble bobble at Disc replay for $4. Its all aobut timing really.
I actually heard about that place from somebody. Are the prices reasonable there and do they have a good selection?

They do have good deals once in awhile at that specific Disc Replay, since that's the only one I've been to locally, however it's very rare. The place I was talking about has a huge selection, and you can easily find games like what you found there for the same prices/better, or pay a little extra for CIB. Even if you don't go to buy, it's cool just to walk around.
I am also from Chicago!!
Great to see another Collector
Welcome James. I'm from Danville, Illinois : )
We need to find ourselves a leader, get this party in order.
I nominate Hounder.
I'm in chicago buddy, i find the prices at video game etc, to be okay, at times, but lots is overpriced. I usually come away with 1 good deal. Seems like anything he gets in of rarity he puts on the bay anyways. So, good deals aren't that frequent.
Tusky, have you met him? Usually once you hit it off with him (
Hounder still owes me money.
Yeah, I've talked to him. I've never gone in the back. But I'll for sure check it out next time. I like the store.

I love that store too, the back is insane. It's sealed galore! He has all kinds of rare stuff just lying around, and his ebay account right now is dead so obviously he's not selling them.
EDIT: ^Tigurx, basically you do have to. But don't judge him just cause he acts like an asshole and has no social skills, lol. Once you know him it's really nice.
Lol, I won't. I'll just schmooze my way in there with my awesomeness and then get him to unload all his rare schtuff at discount prices, just because of how awesome I am. I gotta get over there soon. Its considered Chicago or Noridge?
Norridge I believe
