  • I look at brick set more. I have recently been using all their uploaded instructions to verify and construct a ton of old star wars sets. finished the year 2000 millennium falcon on saturday which was the last set of like 45 sets to do.
  • That is the most badassed thing ever. I'll have to look into the site more. There are a few sets I had as a kid I'd like to re-create.

I'm currently in the process of acquiring the bricks to build the Discovery and the Leonov.

    Wow.

How do people get the parts to make these? Buy individual parts? Buy certain sets?

I would guess they have a massive Star Wars collection to get that many grays in one place. It also helps to collect around a particular theme, for instance if I go for all the Space Police 2 sets many of the pieces have a similar color scheme and look.

Another fun thing to try is to get two of the same set that you really like, I've seen quite a few MOCs based on this doubling-up effect. It's fun to have imposed limits like that on the pieces you have available sometimes.

There are people that buy LEGO by the footlocker-load.

The stuff gets priced by the pound.

  • hmmm, question here

think they will make another batch of the lego tumbler again? (the new batmobile)
  • Yes, it's a new set and hasn't been retired, it's just sold out for now.
  • alrighty guess i'll be saving any amazon gift cards (or others)

didn't want to buy it but, my batman urge is killing me

still looking into getting the original batmobile release cib from a guy for 150
  • Here are some of my recent creations. also a sad story: one time i built a star destroyer from a set and i'd say an hour after i finished it fell of the table and broke into a a thousand pieces

Gatling gun 1st draft I'll be improving it over time

    image

And a (unfinished) 67 Chevy Impala from supernatural + Sam. again i'll be adding onto it as time goes on

  • I'm impressed you had the restraint to make a gun and a vehicle and not immediately combine them.

Thanks! i've been working on it for a while now but i have two and a half "under the bed" bins full of legos and finding the pieces you need can be a pain and i don't really like the Lego Digital Designer

  • Does anybody have interest in a box of just random assorted pieces? I have too many Legos and need to trim the heard. Let me know

Quest4nes buys them by the pound I think
  • I grew up in the '80s, so I'm an old-schooler and prefer the expert builder set line from that era. Here are a couple on one of my nostalgia shelves:

  • This set looks so good, and it's only $159, which is a steal for 2200 pieces.

  • ^I always wanted to get those modular sets. Some of the older ones are so damn expensive now though.

They do a great job on them. The palace cinema set is another really nice one that's still available.
  • Yeah I got the holiday guide the other day and those sets are nice

I'm thinking of getting that arkham ashylum set they have
  • Picture Heavy

This week I decided I wanted to build the death star. Started Wednesday Night

First off this thing is divided into 4 boxes. So many bags of each number. All the bag 1s and like 20+ minifigs took forever to find and sort

    Sitting one 3 Hours

    Sitting 2      4.5 more hours

Sitting 3      6.5 more hours (started to get serious lol)

Sitting 4     short afternoon 2.5 hours (got the very tedious laser gear setup and 180 piece laser alone done.

Final Sitting. Determined to finsih   5.5 hours

So a total of 22 hours. This is one big 3803 piece lego. Was really fun to build. It was only frustrating that they made so many bags the same number in a box so you had to open all of them covering the table making it take awhile to find the pieces. Usually I dont divide out the colors when building because there rarely is too many at once, but Id recommend it for this. This thing has a lot of cool features.
  • Nice Quest.

It always looked so fun to build.
  • I have had mine since May and have not had the chance to put it together yet. I'm moving to a new place this week, so hopefully before Christmas!
  • The pictures dont do the death star justice . Its so freaking huge.
  • So got some things today

    image

Found these 2 boxes- sealed and found out they had more but sold them yesterday and today

    And now this set

    image

I came up too late to pick it up

Basically saw the guy going through the box, taking out the minifigs

He told me that he got it for 7 bucks

The cool thing is that he just wanted the figs and some misc pieces

Gave me the box and the rest of the lego blocks inside

So close to getting a almost complete set hehe
  • Man, I wanted Fort Legoredo as a kid so bad, $7 is amazing.
