Ebay, what happens if seller sends item even if case closed to my favor?
I bought an item on Ebay.
After 18 days of not receiving the item nor tracking number and just excuses which could be true or false but I don't have to care obviusly, I opened an "Item not received" request, to my surprise I had to wait another 5 days, meanwhile I kept asking for tracking number or refund, then just refund, but no answer from the seller.
Few hours before I could then open a final case I received a message witha tracking number and the ridiculuos comment "... I already sent you the tracking number but in case here it is again" ...????
So I check the tracking number and didn't work, by then I already had ask for refund days before with no answer.
For me, seller may just be a scammer taking advantages of time frames and etc.
So I openen a final case which 24hr later was closed to my favor with a supposed refund, which it hasn't applied yet for like 3 days.
I check the tracking number and starts to work, it already arrived, and because I no longer require the item (as I bought it from another seller) and I have no problem sending the item back, but this seller has the sarcasting atittute that it needs to be shipped back in 48hrs or he will reported as stolen ...and that I enjoy "my game" thank you very much yada yada.
So, what happens with a seller sending an item after he lost a case?
Ebay has a little note in the case details saying "the seller has provided a tracking number and the item is on its way...", the case is closed to my favor, that refund will be applied in 48hrs but hasn't been applied.

I told the seller that I could send it back, just need him to pay the shipping and I'll need some days to shipp it.
He basically didn't agree, that if I keep the item it'll be reported as stolen and that I make sure to enjoy my game and tjanks very much for buying from him and yada yada more sarcastic stuff.
I then told him that if shipping is just like 3usd I prefer to pay it if that means having all this over.
He said "yeah, I'm gonna need a tracking number and you have 48hrs to ship it back"
Not sure why, Ebay has already decided on my favor, a supposed refund is in progress and if something happens and the refund doesn't go trough I can show the tracking number and shipping evidence.
I can't see Ebay changing its mind and decide not giving my money. There's proof that the seller didn't ship after 20 days, messages from me asking for refund with no answer. I think is just natural that after sometime of not getting the item, this one is no longer required from the buyer, hence, the buyer not required to buy the item.

Wow, what a jerk. He deserves every bit of that negative feedback you gave him. He's LUCKY you're willing to send it back at all. What an attitude on this guy. He probably thinks he has you scared into sending it back or something just because he's threatening to report it as stolen, to which I'm calling his BS.
Everyone seems to recommend not to ship back before refund.

There is one thing I have to ask? What day did the tracking say he shipped the item to you? because if he shipped it out and the shipping service was at fault then its not the sellers fault. I have shipped items out the same day of payment and it took 15 days for the buyer to receive the item and that was first class shipping. Just asking because sometimes the buyer isnt at fault. Yeah he should have answered you and gave you tracking after he shipped the item. I did see a comment that he is a scammer I dont see him as a scammer since you got the item just bad communication. Ok im done lol hope eveything works for you on this.
And for the other side of the coin, I've had sellers take 5 days to mark something shipped and another week to actually put it in the mail.

- I paid on Oct 15th.
- I opened an "Item not received" request on Oct 30th and had to wait 5 more days before asking Ebay to step in.
- I asked the seller either the tracking number or a refund, no answer.
- Then I asked for the refund, no answer
- On Oct 4th, a few hours before I asked ebay to step in, I receive a message with a tracking number, no carrier specified, I tried it on USPS and didn't work. I assumed the guy was just wasting more time in the last moments to gain more time etc. So I opened a case and waited for Ebay to decide.
- 24hrs later Ebay decided on my favor, a refund is in progress for 4 days now(???), but the tracking number was now working(shipped on 4th Oct).
- The item arrived and I got it refused today so is now on its way to the seller.
I guess I just need to check my refund to go trough, which I don't know why is getting too long
For future reference (don't quote me) but I think you can still open a case 30 days after you make payment. I usually wait 3 weeks before I start getting worried aboot any items that haven't showed up in the mail. It usually takes mail from out of the province or country 2 or 3 weeks, for me.

Can't you just call paypal explain what happened and refund the seller their funds?

I already bought the item from another seller, so the first item is no longer required, I wasn't getting any solution and was loosing deals. I also didn't want the item anymore from someone who may as well send me rocks or some damaged stuff to make me waste more time even if it costs him too, somone who already knows is gonna get bad feedback may want to give me a "lesson".
I know the seller provided a tracking number 24 days later(unrecognized by USPS at the moment) and hours before I asked help to ebay. I didn't pay for all this situation, I paid for an item in my hands in a reasonable time frame and didn't get that.
I would hate that Ebay reversed the refund and I without the item.
I understand international shipping but, national shipping with 20 days of no tracking number and messages ignored or answered 1 or 2 days later with some nonsense, no thanks.
