  • you should post in "help wanted" probably will get a better answer there.
  • What system is it for? can you post a pick of the front and back?
  • Have you opened the game up? I've only had this issue once, and it was because the board was corroded.
  • Arkanoid for the NES, I did see chips had flaked off from the pins
  • id have to see a pic but it depends on how much of the pin is missing/damaged as to whether that would affect playability
  • Very minor dots, I will picture it and post it
  • Interested to see pics, as well. Sometimes you can save something that seems beyond hope.
  • A picture paints a thousand words
  • probably just a dead rom chip or something. I've never encountered this in my life until about a year ago I got an SNES and an NES game that both just flat out won't work, so it may just be the time that this starts happening. I even switched the rom chips into other (sports) games boards that are compatible and it still didn't work. Arkanoid isn't that hard to find, I'd say just leave it alone and get another one
  • Playing Arkanoid just infuriates me.
  • The pins are fine. What you need to check for is any damage to the traces leading from the pins or cracks in the board.
  • I've had 3 carts that I couldn't get to work and they all had different issues.

The first was A Boy And His Blob and it was either heat or water damaged. Lots of bubbling on the plastic and there was probably nothing to be done to get it to work.

The second was The Last Ninja and it had a similar issue as this with spots missing from the contacts. I cleaned and cleaned it and could only get the title screen to flash repeatedly. So I assume it was an issue with the contacts, but I can't be sure.

The third was a copy of Double Strike that just wont do anything no matter what I try. The contacts look good and are clean. Maybe a truly dead cart?
  • It's possible the prg mask rom or the mapper chip have died. There are several guys here who could take it apart and check the parts and replace them as needed.
  • take some 0000 fine steel wool to it if that doesnt fix it its dead
  • out of 200 games i had in my life of nes , snes , 2 out of 200 were dead as DEAD CAN BE!

Prg only weird........ board is 100% operational though with new chips.
  • seller was nice enough to replace the cart
