eBay Help!
I just got the following message from someone who bought a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee from me:
I allow 14 day returns, but in all of my listings I clearly put that I only accept retunrs if there is a problem with the item. How should I act in this situation? Am I obligated to give this person a refund?
Dear tiger_town_games, I don't think I want this anymore, because I'm getting tired of this since I don't play it that often anymore (NO OFFENSE). I really want a full refund for $52.98. So is it ok if I return this to you because it's been 8 business days SANS weekends and 14 days is not up yet. I got it on Thursday October 30, 2014. What is your current address so I can sent it to you? And how many days I wait for the money to get into my debit card? - tkim9288 |

You could also tell him to re-sell it himself if he really wants his money back. You shouldn't have to do all the work for him.
Dear tkim9288,
If you read the description where I put my terms you can see the line that reads: "I only accept returns if there is an actual problem with the item. I will not accept returns for any other reason."
So I'm sorry but I cannot accept a return on this item.

If it were me I'd take it back and relist it. A negative will hurt you far worse in the long run.
Than again he already left you feedback so you could just roll the dice on an ebay case.
Dear tiger_town_games,
alright I understand you. Thank you

So looks like it's all good. Thanks for the input guys!
I guess lucky for me I'm normally the buyer in eBay so I don't have to worry about things like this.

It sounds like he could be a re-seller. Probably bought it thinking he could re-sell it for more than he actually could and then wanted to return it when he realized he couldn't make as much profit as he thought. I wouldn't give a refund in this situation.
You could be right...here is his final message to me. I found it quite humorous...
Dear tiger_town_games,
I already cancel the return request, so I will NOT return it. I'll sell it instead to get mad money.

Lol that is pretty funny. He's going to make MAD MONEY. Glad to hear everything worked out.
I may actually look into the 14 day return for defects only. It will give me a discount on ebay fees.
