Is this why my cart doesn't work? I get a pink screen when I power on.

Could this be what is preventing my cart from loading? I took a quick look inside and I see a bit of a smudge on the board where indicated.

I know very little how about how these carts actually work. I cleaned this one carefully but still get a pink screen when I try it in both an original NES as well as a Genesis-NES clone.

Seems I have not figured out how to get the image to post. I will try again after I look up how to do it properly.

Give it a more thorough cleaning with a q-tip and a bit of rubbing alcohol, but would be best to invest in a 3.5 gamebit so you can open the entire cart up.
