Quattro Adventure game not working on front loader

I know about the lockout chip for region protection and all that, but I recently picked up the Quattro Adventure multicart and it will not let me play it in my front loader (I have not disabled the lockout chip on this one). It does the same thing that a PAL game does, it flashes the intro screen for a second then just resets over and over. Position B didn't help anything either. I have another front loader that I disabled the chip on so I am really only asking out of curiosity; do these gold Camerica games just flat out not work at all on front loaders? What did kids do back then when they bought these games and couldn't get them to work? Or am I just doing something wrong?  I read something about how you have to press reset 9 times but that didn't work either. My region-free NES and top loader are packed up at the moment so this is really annoying because I wanna play this crappy Dizzy game!

but I want to go on a fantastic adventure through treasure island!

  • Disable your lockout chip! Your NES might be a later model NES

It's a fun set of games, actually.

  • Well I guess that's another question here, were there some revisions of the NES that came out later and were able to block Camerica's games from working that earlier models could not block?

No kidding?? It's the only Quattro game I don't have yet loo
  • Most likely as Nintendo got pretty anal with the unlicensed games being produced.

Try disabling the lockout, i wouldn't cut the tab per say just bypass it.

Boomerang Kid and Linus Spacehead were nothing to write home about.

But Super Robin Hood is a genuinely challenging and fun game, IMO.

And Teasure Island Dizzy has some appeal, as well.

  • newer the nes, the harder to play camerica games.
