Whats the deal with pirated multicarts?

I've seen a number of multicarts throughout my ebay travels and it seems that some are indeed rarer than others but are they worth anything? When where they made? are the lesser known 'possibly homebrew' carts worthless? I bought a 76 in 1 upsidedown label PAL cart but I have no idea if i overpayed or what its worth. Is $50 too much?link

  • I personally don't think $50 is too much as I've sold quite a few for that amount + more (and an item's value is really dependant on what people are willing to pay for it). There are opportunities to get multicarts for cheaper prices, though. Also, the actual amount of games on a multicart generally plays an added role as to its value. From experience, I've noticed that multicarts with 500 or more "games" on it according to the label are generally the ones with the least actual unique games and most repetitions (so chances are that your 76-in-1 will have a good amount of games on it, and probably worth the price).

As for when they were made, my guess would be the early to mid 90s.
  • thanks for the info

  • I think 50 is to much. My general rule of thumb is no more than 25-30 shipped for almost all of them. If they were made by a specific company like HKGC Inc or Supervision I will go a little higher.

  • Yeah, I have a multicart titled "110 Games Cartridge" (at least, according to the end label) by Supervision. For that one, I think I gave the guy $15 or so in trade (ended up netting a trio of HES games out of that deal (Maxi 15, Total Funpak, and Arctic Adventure), as well as a couple other pirates)... It's really quite nice image .
  • Someone trading me a wii game for a multicart I got at the flea market.
