Im looking to make my first submission to VGA and have a few questions. I want to submit a bunch of games, im thinking maybe 20-30, and to be honest id rather do it all at once, unless there is some reason not to.
Now my question is what is the turnaround time on games at this point. I know their website gives estimated times, but it also says they are way behind schedule. So does 30-40 days turnaround time really mean 50-60?
I was planning on using the express, 15-20 business days (or about a month), but is this really two or three months now?
Next i was also thinking of getting a membership, because turnaround times are a little faster, and prices slightly lower, but i dont buy sealed games regularly. Im submitting all the ones ive come across over my years of collecting and dont come across them to often in the wild, but if i were to id probably also like to get them graded. Would like to get some input on this matter as well
Lastly, i would like some opinions on the games im thinking of submitting. I dont want to crowd the thread with a ton of pictures. I have a lot of games that are going regardless and other that im on the fence about sending, both because of condition and just really not being worth it. If any of you VGA experts would like to help me out shoot me a pm and ill happily send you a list and some pics of what im on the fence about and you can give me a professional opinion. Also if anyone is local to Los Angeles and could check them out in person id be good with that.
Does it bother anyone else how poorly some of the VGA Gold, Silver or Bronze stickers are applied to the labels? It seems to be much worse on Archival submissions. There clearly isn't room next to the grade for both the "Archival" sticker and the Gold, Silver or Bronze stickers. Usually that means the Gold, Silver or Bronze sticker will hang over the edge of the label which IMO looks sloppy and lazy. I know there are exceptions, but some of the stickers look like they were applied in the dark.

It's definitely case fresh - there are just a few light scratches on the plastic. There are no corner pokes or rips etc. The only issue is that there are a couple creases on the back. One on the left, in the red area, and another on the right which extends over to the side of the box. I know this is either an 85 or 85+ and I need help figuring out which. After looking at a ton of eBay pics, I've seen 85+ games that look worse, and 85 games that look better, but the pics are always lacking detail, and it's difficult to gauge the condition of the plastic from photos.
Any help with an explanation is appreciated. Thanks!
From experience, and even then we still do not know this will not be in teh gold catagory, light scratches on the plastic has set me back into the silver grading and DEFINITELY creases. Still this piece in really good condition :] you should be proud!
The game is returned sealed as it was sent in , they give you a removable bottom acrylic vga case aswell.
On the first page of your online submission it will ask. The default option is to be sealed in acrylic with no grade on it; sliding bottom case is an extra $5 (in the event of a rejection).
wheres a place where i can find a stand for vga graded games specifically for the gamecube/ps2/wii and more. i want to have my vga standing up but dont want it lieing on the ground, what are my options for getting such a stand. dont know where else to turn???

I've seen people use the easel type acrylic stands for VGA games. Check out ebay, there are plenty of options.
Hey everyone! So I purchased my first sealed game. Ogre Battle 64 is my #1 all time favorite game, and is the main reason for my quest for a CIB N64 collection. I've never submitted anything before, and this is probably my one and only. Just wondering if anyone would'nt mind taking a look at at. Would love your opinions on if it's "worth" getting graded. Obviously it's never leaving my collection!
Depends on your definition of "worth" looks like an 80+ at best to me.
I guess "worth" to me would be a grade that would look good on a shelf. I don't know if I would want it graded if it was in the 70's or below. So 80 dosen't sound bad to me.
A few weeks back I got a VGA rated NES Sports Set factory sealed in the VGA case from Ebay. I didn't really care that it was graded and I didn't know what VGA was, I just wanted it new in the box. Now I'm curious why I can't reference the number given on the grading sticker on their website and see the report on it or something.
I have seen a couple of population reports from VGA before with U grades on them. Like U90 or U85+. What does the U grade mean? I know with action figures it means the action figure was taken out of the box and inspected, but what does it mean for video games?
It means the copy is Uncirculated; never made it to a store shelf. Typically the original owner would have sent in a factory sealed case of all the same game and then individually graded. There's other of doing it, too. Such as buying a game straight from store.nintendo.com and before opening the package send it straight to VGA to get graded.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the input. Anyway, the reason I asked originally is because I recently got an NES game graded and it graded at a 95. I wanted to know how many others had graded 95, so I asked for a population report and in the population report, there were games graded U85 and U90, and then others graded 85 and 90 without the U. I just wanted to see how many graded 95 and mine was the only one so far. And mine came straight out of a case of 6 and mine did not show a U beside it on the population report, so I wasn't sure if it meant Uncirculated or what it meant.
My first ever submission (Wario's Woods), double boxed, will be dropping off at the UPS store tomorrow morning. Thing should be bulletproof, wish me luck. Very helpful thread and thanks to everyone.

Or is that number the result of sending VGA a box of several units and just asking to rate them all?

To answer your question, yes! It is possible to obtain a high grade with a game being circulated. I have a few myself on N64 which I got lucky with. So send away and hope for the best.

can someone tell me how to get grades on games? I have some sweet mega man cib nes and wanna get grades

Yeah, VGA has to open the case for you to get the uncirculated "U" added to the grade.
That makes a little more sense because thats how action figures get a "U" grade also. Thanks for the info, I appreciate the reply.
