Does anyone have a cart of Super Copa?

I just purchased a cart only of this game. Something seems very odd about it though. When you start the game there is a brief copyright screen and then up comes another screen that says "playtronic" in the upper right corner. On that screen you are supposed to choose a language. The only options are Portuguese or Spanish. I have had this game before and I don't remember this screen, but this has been years ago so I can't be sure. I've also heard that the playtronic and NA versions are the exact same game which is why that guy on eBay was selling a ton of playtronic ones with repro labels. So that is why i am unsure. Anyway, if anyone has one and can pop it into their system to verify what comes up when you turn it on, I would really appreciate it!

    There are English and non-English versions of the game. You got the non-English version.

    PLAYTRONIC was the name of the distribution chain for Nintendo in Brazil much like TEC TOY did for Sega in Brazil

    Yeah I know about playtronic. Its an NTSC label and doesn't looke replaced so I didn't know what to think. @Lincoln, are there English and non English NTSC carts? Is there any way to know without turning the game on?

    I had this same question not long ago, I thought someone swapped out the boards also but that's not the case. I took it up with Retrosauce via PM and he confirmed they were all playtronic gameplay. Even NTSC carts.



    Every cart I've tested since has been the same and I've yet to see an English version. (wouldn't that be called "Super Cup'?) including ones from CIBs and Cut up boxes. I was under the impressions that the English version is Tony meolas soccer. The descriptions on the backs of the boxes are similar with a few words switched around, The super copa box being in Spanish.



    Unless someone comes forward with anything else?



    I think your good man, just think of it as another reason to hate the game and wish it would cease to exist

    Awesome, thank you everyone for the help! Snesfinder, its hilarious that you say to think of it that way because I swore after our deal on that sealed one I would never own the game again because I hate everything about it haha I actually still have those fake boxes sitting in my basement I'm pretty sure.
