I know it's been posted on the internet fabled attempts to make Super Mario Bros. Duck Hunt rare by destroying copies in existence. Has anyone on here destroyed one?
lol, I remember reading about this YEARS ago...it was always entertaining, but impossible. I'm sure quite a lot have been destroyed for personal projects and reproduction shells. The funny thing is that it popped into my head about a month or so ago...I was going to try and track down the old site but it slipped my mind. I've never destroyed any of them, but I have degraded their condition for replacement backings to other carts.
Considering there are tens of MILLIONS of them, theres no real way to profit from buying and destroying most of them. Even at NWC (or SE!) prices, it takes a lot of sales to get millions of dollars...
Fun fact: If you stacked the 23 million SMB/DH that you were about to destroy flat on top of one another, you'd have a stack that was about 227 miles tall, tall enough to extend into the Earth's stratosphere at 120,000 feet, or if you toppled the stack on it's side, long enough to cover the average width of Florida twice.
