I'm getting in on this. I'm starting Insanity again on Monday. Last time I did Insanity I lost around 30 pounds in only two months in preparation for an alumni football game. I didn't even diet properly during that time, just kind of watched what I ate a bit. The workout is legit. After the alumni game, I stopped working out and gained it all back, plus some . For those who don't like lifting weights or running (me), it is a great alternative.
Still 269...like I said I plateau...freaking annoying. I'm watching my calories using that fitnesspal app and I'm under most of the days (only a little bit), one day I was over by 300. But I'm eating less and I notice a difference...in that I'm god damn hungry all the time. Yet still no change in weight. I'd expect at least a pound or two to drop...
Next week I should see a change...right?
They say to lose 1lb of fat, you should have a deficit of about 3500 calories. So if you don't have a 500 calorie deficit/day for 7 days, then maybe that's why you don't see a change.

Are you working on cutting out the Mountain Dew at all? If you can ditch all the sugery drinks for water or a zero calorie substitute, that would make a big dent in your daily calorie count.

The app said I can eat 2050 calories a day and I'll lose a pound a week.
@teh lurv: Sort of...I'm trying to drink more tea and fruit smoothies. I'm taking in more fruit then I ever have lol...I didn't buy the large 24 pack of dew, but the 12 pack...so I'll have to cut down on drinking it if I want it to last.
Sorry about the delay guys. Been up and out helping my father since he threw out his back 2 days ago.
Speaking of being up and out, here's our first weekly challenge!
I want everyone to do some light cardio! You have 7 days from today to complete this challenge and you will be rewarded 50 points for every time you achieve it!
Week 1 - Challenge A(50 Points)
Walk, Jog, or Run 2 miles on a treadmill or elliptical, or in the great outdoors!
Week 1 - Challenge B (50 Points)
Bike 5 miles on a stationary bike. or on a real bike.
Week 1 - MEGA CHALLENGE(100 Points)
Drink nothing but water and seltzer (soda water, club soda, whatever you call it regionally) for the entire week
You can do challenge A & B up to 7 times this week. Also, remember to be safe!
I'll tally up the weights as soon as I get a chance
The fitness pal app is great I have been out to eat 3 times and all the restautants menus have been in the app, also I shop at aldis and they have a fit and active line of lo cal foods and they are all in the app as well.
Key thing with the app is you have to be honest about the portion sizes. I found homemad coffe with cream and sugar but it was an 8 oz serving, the mug I use is 16 oz so I had to double the servings in the app.
I decided that today I would start training for my next half marathon, which is coming up in a few months. I ran over 2 miles tonight, not off to a great start I guess, but I worked all day and just wanted to start off with something a bit light. Tomorrow I think I will go for around 4 1/2 miles run.
I'm happy I found this thread, it's helping me try and eat better this year and get more fit. I'm more so looking to get toned and stay healthy as opposed to weight loss per se. Hope it's alright I post in here my progress.
Woke up today and am at 192.6, very happy that I am almost back in the 180s. Then I will be at the same weight I was before I started having some personal issues.
Killer, today was leg day! I'm not trying to just lose weight, but also gain muscle as well. I couldn't hit 10 miles on the bike though, only got to 7...but that's 7 more miles I would have done if I was playing League of Legends.
It's pretty darn easy to lose muscle when losing wight so I'm doing some maintenance and making sure every pound I lose is only fat weight and not muscle weight!
I'm down 4 or 5 pounds already and feel great. My stomach gave in and now my head is in control of my body. No more headaches from lack of junk, no desire to eat greasy food, and I look forward to my diet food now.
I think I can keep it off this time! My ultimate goal is to be a size 36 again. I started size 54, and im down a whole size (52) so I've got a ways to go.
I drink almond milk a ton. Its pretty much all water. Its mah fav. I probably drink 2 gallons per week. I sip it straight off the bottle.
yeppers. I switched from regular to almond in February and love the stuff. Just found Cashew milk at Walmart this weekend, it is really good too.
My dad is a skinny stick figure of a guy...real health nut. He's tried all those nut milks and soy milks...I've tasted a few and ugh...idk how people can drink that crap lol. Out of all of them I found 1 I loved...Sunsoy Chocolate Soymilk...but they stopped making it or I've never found it again...hrmp.
I'm somewhat lactose intolerant so I have to drink lactose free milk anyways...so soy milk would be a good idea, if I could stand that nasty taste, which I can't.
Side note, I'm wondering how many women signed up for this group? I'll be interested to see how they lose weight compaired to the men of this group. It's been proven women have a harder time losing weight then men...and boy don't I know it
I dropped weight a few months ago and it's creeping back due to no competition. It's hard loosing weight by yourself. I'm in on this, even though I'm a few weeks late seeing this thread. I Actually just started back at the gym yesterday.
been having a hard time with the exercise thing since im not very mobile at the moment, however i have been making dietary strides, went out and bought some chicken tighs and a bunch of salad and portioned it all off as well as pre portioning my morning smoothies, which are much better for me now that I switched off of milk based drinks, im currently going with a mixture of banana mango pineapple and spinach. It's very yummy, and you dont takes any spinach I highly recommend it. I got the recipe from a site called simplygreensmoothies.com Unfortunately I started this before seeing the weekly mega challenge so unless a smoothie counts as a meal it looks like i've already lost out but no worries. And as for my weigh in only down about a pund to 281. But I'll take it for being laid up with my back. Best of luck to everyone this week lets shed some pounds!
This is my normal weight loss lunch. Michelina's tortellini Alfredo (240 cal), bad hospital food ala rice (150 cal) and water. 390 Cals total for lunch.

I haven't signed up for the thread since I'm close to my goal but I am currently losing weight. I haven't heard about women having a harder time losing than men? I've been losing 1.5lbs a week for the past five weeks. I've slowed it down to 1lbs a week (holds true for the 6th week, waiting to see if I've fine-tuned this well enough next week) because I'm only four pounds away from my goal and want to readjust gradually back to maintenance calories.
While not being health nuts at all, my boyfriend and father both have very low body fat. My father is just being weird in his habits, but my boyfriend never tried to lose weight and just doesn't think of eating, I think. He doesn't eat healthy at all He had about 6% body fat when he got it measured, I believe? Like the amount of body fat someone like a body builder could have, haha. Minus the huge muscles.

First weigh in was 303
Second weigh in I am 299.8
No exercise thus far. Just changing bad habits and managing calorie intake.

Also, I'll be moving this to a private topic soon that way we can be more private about this and be more open.
See you guys around 8!

i got a sodastream for christmas and most of the drinks are only 30 - 40 cal a serving.
funny thing is i picked up a cooking light kiwi pear flavor and it has more calories than the regular cola or the kool aid flavor

I have a sodastream somewhere, I just ran out of gas and I never bought a new can.
if you bring the old can back with you the new one is only 15 dollars instead of 30
Now I know better though
