Black box CIB games

What is the average going price one would expect to pay for the "less" rare black box games. For example, games like Popeye, Donkey Kong, or Gumshoe?

Comments

  • Depending on condition and who sees them but around 25-30+ All the black box games have been selling very well lately.

  • Maybe $25-30..  Donkey Kong for the cart is approx. $8-10.  I was lucky to get Gumshoe for $4 shipped, but I'm sure a boxed copy would be more.

EDIT:  LOL, NGD.  You replied at the same time I did with the same price guesstimate.
  • Cool! Thanks guys. Jason, did you get my PM?
  • Is there a list of all the black box games? Sorry, I know I sound new....but I'm really not image
  • There's 30 of them. I think I can name them all: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Clu Clu Land, Wrecking Crew, Balloon Fight, Wild Gunman, Gumshoe, Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., Mario Bros. Arcade, Popeye, Gyromite, Stack Up, Urban Champion, Kung Fu, Pinball, Ice Climber, Slalom, Pro Wrestling, Excitebike, 10 yard fight, Baseball, Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Soccer, Mach Rider. I think that's all of them

Quite impressive...what list were you reading off of image ? (kidding, of course.)

Edit: Of those, the ones to watch out for CIB are as follows:

Donkey Kong Jr. Math - This one's box alone can fetch into the triple-digits, if it's in good enough shape. The manual isn't easy to get a hold of, either.

Gyromite big box - Comes with a set of parts for ROB (which parts, is what I don't know), and can fetch high double digits easily if CIB.

Stack-Up big box - Comes with a set of parts for ROB (5 different colored circular blocks, 2 hands, and 5 pedestals in a plastic tray), and has brought nearly $200 in previous sales.

Mario Bros. (arcade) - Quite a pain to locate, though not nearly as rare as the first three in this list. Can get into the mid-double digits regularly if CIB.

Clu Clu Land - The box for this, while not as near impossible to find as the box for DK Jr. Math, is known to be a pain to locate. Can fetch $40-$50 CIB.

  • i don't know that i'd include the bb gyromite, some could just consider a variant, i guess, it is still tough as hell to find, i wish i had one.

and don't forget urban champion, if its a nice condition CIB it will easily pass $50

You can type in "black box" in the site search and it will show you all of them at once.

Really?  I scored a mint cart and manual for like $6...  I guess the box must add $44, heh.
  • The box is definitely the most sought after part, but the manual is very nice to have as well. I still need the manual as a matter of fact.
  • A big box gyromite would pull triple digits easy on ebay. At least, I would assume. Can't even remember the last one on ebay that was listed correctly. Speaking of mr Rob, anyone see that bonkers new ROB on ebay? Holy shit! I have a brand new in box ROB the robot system so seeing that auction just makes me wonder what that would be worth.... My number 1 favorite item in my collection, though, so it is never for sale. Still can't believe what that ROB is pulling. The NES market is crazy right now. Anyone think it will start to fade at all any time soon?
  • Wish I could say I knew, Sara. Ever since I've started collecting NES earlier this year, with the across-the-board (and severe!) summer spikes, I've wished more and more that I had $10,000 to start with instead of $10. Loose Flintstones 2's never traded for more than $150 until this year. And the Panesians into the $750-$900 range complete? It would've sounded a bit far-fetched to me earlier this year, as well. SE hitting $1775 (and me actually willing to go near that figure, above it all)? Bubble Bobble 2 hitting $450 complete? Offers of $350-$450 being thrown around for mint CIB Chubby Cherubs and Athletic World FFF? The NWC repros finally being reproduced, as well as a homebrew based on a puzzle that is one of this decade's best-known icons? One never heard of such a thing, until the summer of '07. Definitely, this is a summer of record in the NES collecting world.
  • Who has a Chubby Cherub or FFF Athletic world for $400,I would buy them both right now!!

Heh...you misunderstood. Several of us were offering that for those two...none of us had those for sale (as far as I know). Believe me, if they did, they'd be sitting in either my house or Erik's house right now, more than likely image .
