I don't play this game often enough to keep up with KoopTroopa very often, or for very long, but I'm happy enough to get into the top 4 when I can.

yeah i actually beat him a few times. but i still hate the fact you lose so many points for one race. why sometimes when your in front and you hit a box does it take so long to get the item, thats how i usally get in trouble i get a good start then get hit with a shell before my item registers

Doug, I use the nunchuck and after you pick up a box if you hit the Z button a bunch of times I always seems to register real quick. Not sure how to do that with the wheel, but I am sure there is some button you can press to have it register quickly.

i was to i made it clear to 9400 then one disconnect and 2 rapings im back in the low 8000. my question is where are all the 9000 racers i usally only get in races against 9000 when i race you or your brother and one once in a while
josh is there just not many people with 9000 plus rankings. i get tired of racing the low ranking players you only get 20 points if you win and lose 30 or more for second place then if you get item r@ped and finish last 300 or more. and they play the same tracks over and over and over. im so sick of mushroom gorge and shy guy beach i could scream
they key to get into races with higher people is haveing a few high ratings on your friends list, because when you get in races with them chances are they have high people on there list and the people there playing with have high people on there list and so on...
you can get people from the mariokart forum to add to your list.. then maby you can get into what me and caleb call a PRO ROOM where there is 8 - 12 racers all 9000 - 9999, but let me warn you be prepared to lose big points...
and yeah for the most part it allways pairs me up with racers from 5000 to 8000..
lol I dont think I could possibly lose many more points then against the 5000. Ive lost 350. 318, in 2 races. I think im going to take a break from playing for a while. plus Ive had the worse run of luck the last 2 days lost over 2000 points. which wouldnt be so bad but Ive all i seem to get anymore is the darn thundercloud or the red box which is about worthless unless your so far ahead the shells cant get you. and i think luck plays a big part in most races and i dont seem to have any at this time
guess its just a status thing. but when you have 14 thousand wins and 4 thousand losses it just seems kind of crappy they crap on your rating..
kind of like playing spades on yahoo. people with high ratings eventhough they may only have 5 or six more wins than losses wont play people with lower ratings eventhough they may have won 70 percent of their games

As long as it doesn't ruin your fun stressing over it, man... that's all I'm saying. Mario Kart will definitely raise your blood pressure, no matter what level you're playing at.
I don't play nearly as much as you guys; I think I'm around 7000, but I only pay attention to the points in regards to how well I'm playing that day (whether I win points or lose them in a single match).
As long as nobody in the race is cheating with a hack, I'm happy to be playing. But, I only play for a few hours per month at this point. If Nintendo would send me a check if I reached 9000 points, I might reconsider the whole thing, but alas... there isn't enough motivation for me to bust my own balls.
I don't mind getting my ass kicked by you guys on a consistent basis, as long as my character isn't embarrassed so much that he retreats into his shell and it plays the sad music at the end of the match. I'm happy enough to get into the top 3 or 4 when there are some heavy hitters playing... at least catching up far enough every now and then to complicate your lives a little bit with a red shell or two.
I'll most likely be on tonight...my wife and I have been playing the last couple nights in a row online...i'll have to dig up my # though so people can add me...it was in the other thread but it's now burried
