If yes I can tell you that you can get those german copies (as this is the german release) for around 500 here. Euros that is.
Edit: If you are lucky as that game is not really THAT rare over here you can even get it for much much less.

Yes thats what I hade about german ebay for a while - more and more repro shit. Hardly anyone of these f**** mention it in the title. They usually add a small 'fan made edition' or 'repro bla bla' in the description. You have to be really careful. But you can a legit copy of the game in good shape for < $1000US here in germany.
Phew now that is wuite a lot. I think though it also depends. Here in austria you have the chance to find it for much less if you are lucky. In the states it may be impossible to find in the wild so the price is even more premium.
So we PAL guys can ask high prices from the US guys for this one.
I've definitely seen it on flea markets here for a few euros, only loose though.

Yeah I'd like some more PAL expert opinions too. I personnally paid my copy really high over the $1000 range.
