Yet another SE CIB listed on eBay that is TOTALLY not fake or shady in any way.

I think some more people are trying to jump on this SE craze lately:

Notice he says that he can verify the authenticity through websites.  Is this guy an NA member?

  • As far as I can tell, those pictures are unique and not stolen.

    It may be legit.
  • Wow. So my first thought is why doesn't this person take the time to actually try to SELL his item. However, maybe a listing like this is made to keep scam bidders at bay?

I guess I'm only confused because of the BIN option. I couldn't imagine hitting that button on such a scant listing.

Also, does this mean another SE CIB has come out of the woodwork?
  • I call BS. No one with zero feedback would be selling this. Cmon...... It's BS!
  • Why though?

Some random lady 2 years ago found a SE CIB still wrapped in original plastic at goodwill for $7.99.

A non-collector had a sealed one since the early 90s from the Nintendo employee store in washington, found out in 2010 the value of it and got it graded in 2012 Then sold it a month ago.

years ago a lady found one in her closet CIB and had no idea what it was worth and is even the source for the infamous "Original Nintendo DS NES-101" meme.

Can it be fake, yes and should be considered fake until proven real. But by all means not everyone on the planet has an eBay account, let alone an active one.

Someone just needs to convince the seller to take proper precautions and give due diligence. It's in the sellers best interest to prove the legitimacy and it's in collectors communities best interest to demand more proof.

A reverse Google image search yields no results so this is an original picture. A JPEG error analysis yields no results so it's not photoshopped.

The only way this is fake is if the seller took a picture of his friends box, or printed out a REALLY high quality fake box, book, and label.
  • With all the recent skyrocketing of certain Nintendo items it doesn't surprise me that more and more people are coming out of the woodwork with these. Especially after that sealed SE and the NWC Mario a few months ago.

Im with Joseph on this one, it seems legit and cant be deemed fake until proven so. A lot of people don't really know how to sell effectively on eBay which makes it look "sketchy."
  • It could be real, and the person just doesn't want this on their list of sold games on their actual ebay account. This is not exactly a low profile item, and once you unload something like this I'm sure you'll get hundreds of emails inquiring if you have other rare and expensive things.Just have to take the time to think before screaming lynch mob.
  • I think the box and manual look good because of the every day wear and tear. The top flap of the NES box has that classic edge wear and the little bends on the manual. Not saying that's something to bank on but it seems like 'authentic wear', if you will. You'd still want to see the inside of the cart and get a better pic of the label.

I'm not surprised to see more of these jumping out as the price continues to go up. It's happened many times before that an increase in price brings these games out of the wood work. I can also see someone opening a eBay profile just for this item.
  • Well someone smartened this person up to the value of this game and I think that they should have done their due diligence and took pictures of the board.... we are talking big money here.

I am sure you already emailed them so what have you found out?

  • Didn't get around to PMing the seller yet. Will see what I can find out in a bit though if anything.

  • I think this might be the one that was (I'm assuming)sold privately on the sellers forum here a few weeks back paired up with a box/manual. The way the seller mentions he has athletic world and the fitness pad sounds familiar.

  • I'd like to see the back of the box, but from what I can see, it looks legit, and probably the nicest non-sealed box I've ever seen.
  • very nice.
  • That looks like a very nice set!

I remember the lady that was selling the boxed stadium events years ago. pretty odd ebay username if i recall, lol. She did join the forum for a bit and enjoyed her little bit of fame She had no idea what she had. I'm glad she let the .99 cent auction run, was definately a fun watch! One can only dream of such a find!

As far as board pics, you can always verify it at the time of transaction. The seller may not know how or may not feel comfortable disassembling it either. I'm sure if you had serious interest, those pics could be provided. Best of luck to the seller!

Hahaha, pretty much what I thought too.

  • Just clicked on the link, it looks like a nice copy on top of that!
  • I'd say it's legit.
  • Really nice.
