FS: VERY RARE The Official RoboWarrior Hint Sheet NES

Hello everyone. I am currently selling an Official RoboWarrior Hint Sheet which was only available by mail order back in 1989 so only a handfull ever existed.

I know there are people who try to collect these but never can because they are very hard to come by. I've never seen one on ebay and I doubt there ever will be one again. Now is your chance.

Wait, if I ban you, then I'll have to do more work! Boo! No purple-ganons for you!

  • LOL at the "you're" on the front page of the hint sheet.
  • Love paper! Good luck seller!
  • This is a pretty spectacular piece! Top tier of the Nes guides mos def! Good luck OP! This will be a good one to watch
  • Can we get this hyped on the front page and get another 6 figure troll price?
  • I know it's just a piece of paper and doesn't look like much but people do like to collect these Mail Orders/News Letters for nostalgia and because they are so hard to find.

Oh for sure. You have enough people that have posted in this thread already that are gonna make sure this goes for a nice sum.

    I'm current high bidder bitches!

  • Very cool item!
  • hmmmmmm might have to bid... fighting temptation
  • nice item! Good luck with the sale
  • Cart, manual, and hint sheet (no box) just sold on eBay for $249.50. I'm fairly surprised. I have C+I+B which I've piecemealed, in quite good condition, for under $10 total. So I was interested in the listing, up until about $15. Check out the bids, $9 to 250 in four minutes lol. Maybe the sheet is pretty rare but the game isn't that great, IMO.

    <link redacted>
  • Wait, this is expensive? I'm almost positive I have two of these. Looks like I'm gonna have to dig through my paper.
  • My mistake, they're two copies of the official Solomons Key Cheat Sheets from Tecmo. Any value in those though?
  • Where are the rare paper guys? Is it just me, or does this appear to be a different hint sheet than the Robowarrior one originally posted? Acidjaguar needs to get in here
  • Well this is a variant of the Robowarrior hint sheet that until now I believed was only in black and white.  I would say this is a later version of the sheet most definitely.  I'm hoping whoever won it is someone I know as I'd like to get better images of it, but from what I can see from images from the seller this is the contents:

Comparing it to the black and white version they are essentially the same.  The back page differs slightly with one or two more lines of text, and of course this one is in hi def color!

It is a thing of beauty.... very unfortunate about that burn mark on the right.  It travels all the way through the document, but I guess it's a start for tracking purposes!

ETA: @gunpei, please remove the link as we try to wait 2 weeks around here to prevent any back dooring of deals.
  • Sweet, that's what I thought as well, appears to be a variant. I'd agree that black and white probably came first, but man the color really livens it up!
  • I threw down $200 but wasnt enough oh well.
  • Oh man, I remember that first auction now another hint sheet to look for

  • Probably my two favorite guides right there
  • Glancing at it, the front first paragraph is different (colored version is saying thank you for purchasing vs requesting, and also throws in jaleco's name). The inside border character edging is also added to the color vs the black and white. Interesting!
  • I was actually the winner of the auction. Maybe I overpaid, frankly I was surprised I won it though. I was going to wait to post until I actually get the item, but the seller says it was shipped, and if I get backdoored I guess I save myself $250. I really fell in love with the item, and I think it is a cool conversation piece and right now it's one of a kind. I actually didn't notice the extra two lines on the back page that is different from the black and white ones, I guess that gives more evidence that this came out later. The one text difference I noticed was on the front...

Black and white: Thank you for requesting the official Robowarrior Hint Sheet. You're name has been added to our mailing list for future product information.

Color: Thanks for buying RoboWarrior from Jaleco. If you want to learn more about Jaleco games for your Nintendo Entertainment System make sure you fill out the reply card that's inside the RoboWarrior package.

I don't know if that gives any evidence that it was acquired by different means or what, but it almost sounds like the color one was included for some reason.

    Anybody else have any information?
  • Tells me that the color guide was probably a retail giveaway item for when you buy RoboWarrior since it assumes you own it.

It couldn't have come with every game though, otherwise there would be thousands of these out there. It has been 25 years since this game was released and this is the first one like this that I know of.
