  • whoa! thats a new one to me
  • look awesome :-)
  • That's one of the most complete ones I've seen in quite some time. They usually don't have the paperwork or the keys. I think the only this one is missing is the tools?
  • Also missing the Sharp controllers, which seem to be far more rare than the systems. Most picts arent loading here but the eBay hosted pict does look especially clean.
  • It does have the sharp controllers in one of the pics.
  • Wow! Never seen one of those before.

Does anybody know what is available on those black carts? The cases look like regular NES carts. Are they a 72 pin cartridge?
  • Yeah, they're the famicom versions of the games on 72-pin carts. I believe there's a complete list of them on NGD's list.
  • September 2008 ezine has my article about the Famicombox and Famicomstation  image  They are standard USA NES carts with 72 pin connectors and will play in a (lockout disabled) NES system.  NES carts can't be used in the Famicombox/station because the lockout chip in that system cannot be disabled and still work.
  • Hmm, I thought they had the JP version of the ROMs on them. My bad image
  • LMAO, I like some of his other auctions. He's got two of these up:

Be sure to compare the pics of that auction with the controllers in the actual Famicomstation.
  • Sorry for the confusion, yes they are the JP games but all the physical hardware is the USA standard instead of the Famicom standard.
  • Famicombox games tend to sell pretty high by themselves as well. I know about a year ago or so, a guy was selling like 6 of them by themselves. I think all of them sold for around 100-150 a piece. Makes me think this is a pretty good deal. Especially in the shape it's in. I don't know the exact games available, but I think it's mostly black box games, or older games like Pro Wrestling and such.
  • 100-150 is WAAAAYYY too high for FB games. Most of the FB carts I've seen sell between $20-$35. I know there are a few titles that are in higher demand, but I would be surprised to see numbers anywhere near $100. The same seller listing the Famicom Station attempted to sell 5 FB titles for $25-$30 unsuccessfully just this past month.

Famicom Station carts tend to demand a higher price, and they appear to be far rarer. Those don't even tend to reach three figures.
  • Another interesting tidbit about famicombox/station games; besides the NWC carts they are the only Nintendo production carts to be made exclusively with Eprom chips.

As far as price is concerned, I wouldn't pay more than maybe $30 for a box and $45 for a station cart, and that's if I REALLY wanted one of them. If $100-$150 is the going rate, I'll sell my mint Mah Jong Famicombox cart for the discount price of $80 shipped image
  • hmmm... maybe i remember this wrong. I'll have to look back at my notes, but I thought the games were selling much higher because I was looking into buying a set of them.
  • Maybe the set of 6 sold for $150 or something...
