Did a search for this and didn't see one....so I just thought I would ask how much you think you spend in a week, a month or whatever on your NES habits?
Interesting thought... I'd say in an average month, I'm in for $200-$400 on games. I'd also say in an average month, I sell anywhere from $100-$500 in games. So it virtually pays for itself .
No idea and I don't want to know. I know I spent 450 yesterday on crap though and I don't have a job, lol. Time to start sending out the old resume tomorrow.
Hopefully a number that'll be closer to $0 relatively soon! Heh. When I began I didn't think much of it and paid too much on stuff. $11 for Ice Climber for example (yeah, slap me).
Nowadays I'm more cautious, maybe too much so on some things. Though nowadays there are fewer titles I'm really looking for.
Anyway, I'd prefer not to really give exact figures, but they'd still be triple figure. Thankfully I've never ever come close to four figures.
What kinda job are u applying for. Just curious. Man u should eventually open up your own store or something to sell your extra games, (besides ebay). Man if u had a store It would probably be the most insane vintage gaming store in the US!
Dude, know what would be sweet, if u had a gaming store shaped like a giant NES.! That would be awsome.I'm sure after some good Nes sales u could start a pretty cool buisiness.
I spent from $150-$200 a month. Maybe more sometimes, but I try to stay as low as possible. But browsing eBay turns out to be expensive for me every time. I leave with like 5 watched auctions a night.
It varies for me. Some months I might spend over $1000 just on games. But on other months, I may only buy one CIB game that I need for $10 or so. Just depends what is for sale at the time and what I need. If I spend something like $1000 in a month, I usually take a couple months off of buying anything substantial.

I think it's most NES collector's dream to open a vintage gaming store. There is only 1 vintage gaming store any where near my house.
I used to spend a LOT. Now, I limit my spending to whatever is available in my PayPal account. I basically sell games in order to buy games, and if I don't have the cash, it would have to be a pretty nice item to justify tapping into my "non NES" money LOL.

I've said so many words on this topic I'm sick of it I think it can work but you need a super-solid base and something original to sell. Because you're not going to make your money on the games themselves, at least not classic ones. Nothing beats running your own place (except maybe making enough to be able to pay someone else to run your place, so you can sit back and enjoy it!) but you need some strong skills with the internet being the classic game exchange juggnaut that it is.
Even with a place like DP, the customers who are real hobbyisys all know each other and exchange outside the storefront, on forums...it just makes it more expensive to use a place like that as a middleman and trade-in or sell on consignment. I'm sure some people do, but it's not their bread and butter I guarantee.
I've spent far too much this summer on Nintendo stuff, spent ~ $1000 in the last few days on two VB games. Then another couple of hundred on other VB games trying to complete my set in the last few weeks.
I've spent nearly $600 this summer so far trying to get a complete 64DD set, and I've still got the two rare games to go! which could be anything from $400 to $600 for the 2.
I try and offset it by selling PAL NES's and SNES's that can play american games, saving people importing etc and having to use stepdown transformers with the voltage difference. The SNES's can sell for $100 a piece because I make them play at 50Hz & 60Hz, and Jap, US & Euro games, complete with switches etc. I also sell RGB SCART cables for $14 a go, they sell like hot cakes suprisingly.

It basically pays for itself. I buy the games I want to keep, I buy games to to flip and make profit. I spend $200-400 month and my average sales from my booth are $300 month + all the stuff I sell on ebay. Only time money is out of pocket is with the larger online purchases.

Are you talking about Next Level in Blackwood?
Yup, that's the one. You know of any others?
No, I don't know of any others. But I'm pretty sure I've been banned from that store. The owner is a Digital Press mod.
