For those of you with larger collections

For some reason... I think the last game I will ever own is Tennis (black box version)... Haven't seen it in the wild... haven't won it in any lots... I refuse to buy it as a single...

Anyone else find themselves in this situation? And for those with a complete collection... which of the common games were last to be checked off your list?

  • I have none of the Tengen RBI's 1,2 or 3 or the licensed one. No carts, no Boxes, I may have the manual to 1. My local gamestore has them but they want like $10-$14 for them so I refuse to by them there. I've never come across them anywhere else or had any of them be in any lot I've purchased. Funny this is, my local gamestore is REALLY proud of all their tengen games, but if I ever stumlbe across a king neptune's or a operation secret storm they charge $3. image Wish they would get some in.

Batty. If you ever give up, I'll cut you a deal on a Tengen Tetris cart.

  • Well... Ok.... but it's Tennis I need... not Tetris!

  • I need around 100 games, and yes a lot of them are commonimage
  • since my collection is cart only, i didnt have a problem finding anything but i would like to replace maby 10 games that are in bad condition and it seems that i cant find those games in good eough condition for a reasonable price.
  • Dumb games I still need and refuse to BIN or trade for:

    Cyberball

    Double Strike

    Dr. Chaos

    Isolated Warrior

Quattro Sports (NM nice gold only)

    Twin Eagle

If I eliminate all realistic possibility of finding carts I need in the wild, then the allure of hunting is gone so I'm perfectly happy having these commons round out my final 25.
  • For the longest time I wanted to get a copy of Bomberman and I finally got it last night.  It seems there's always one title that always ends up going for a bid of 2¢ higher than yours.

Oh, and I have me a copy of Tennis with manual.  No spares though. image
  • Well the way the NES library is, pretty much everyone will have commons on his list until he hits like 20 games to go (and even then, games like Hillsfar always seem to end up on people's posted lists). I'm still a couple hundred games away from the set, and of that, like 180 of them are commons image

Hillsfar?  EWWWWW!  The PC version was no good so I'd imagine the NES to not be either.  Luckily SSI's Forgotten Realms series had other excellent games.

  • My next to last game I needed was Chiller. I know it isn't super common but I mean come on Chiller. Myriad was last though image

My last 25 or so had a few commons but it was mostly mid range stuff in the 15-30 range.

  • Yeah, my last 25 games had some "commons" in the mix. Stuff that would be on eBay almost every day. It was good, because I would never BIN some of those games on eBay before, but when you're so close to finishing off a collection, you just say "What the hell... I might as well knock 1/25th of my collection off right here."
  • I just picked up a Chiller with manual last week for $1.50. Not a bad deal!

Shows how much sleep I got last night. image
  • I have 520 US releases, and I don't own a -USA Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cart. I have 2 -CAN copies and a -GBR one though image
  • For the longest time I couldn't for the life of me come across a copy of Marble Madness. Two times I won it in an eBay auction (as part of a lot) but for one reason or another, it was never shipped. I also almost received it twice from a forum trade but those deals never fell through. However, I do have a copy now.
  • ^ That happened to me with Death Race (took me YEARS to finally end up snagging a sealed one) and it's happening to me with Bomberman right now. Funny how there's always that one unobtainable "white whale" game.
  • The Godzilla 2 box was the same way for me. I bought 3 of them before I finally snagged on.

  • i only need about 18 games for the set, and i still haven't got a loose miracle piano, usually you can get it well under $15 shipped, but i still don't have one.
  • I have a dup one if you want it Skank. Shoot me a PM.

  • Well I have a shitload of extra loose games here. Don't take the prices too seriously, I'm willing to negotiate, especially if your buying a lot.
  • I just need a complete myriad. which I will probally wait several years for. but shadow of the ninja was one of the last common games i needed to pretty much finish
  • I have about 280 or so to go...I'd say about 90-93% are commons under $10 each.
  • I got 15 games left and I still have titles like Gumshoe, Rollerblade Racer, Shadow of a Ninja and a few other commons I cant think of that I still need to pick up... Im in no hurry though its not like those will never show up. Like Dan said Im leaving those to find in the wild one day. Gives me something to search for when I go to the flea markets image
