Rodea the Sky Soldier for Wii, Wii U and 3DS

Is anyone else looking forward to playing this? It is already out in Japan and PAL and NTSC-U versions should be released by the end of September.

I believe the first print versions will have the unreleased Wii version of the game packed in with its own case/manual etc. Pre-orders are now being taken.

  • i already started a thread about this, but i am not sure myself about whether i'll be buying it. i mean, i like nights and panzer dragoon as much as the next guy (or sega fan rather) but i'll have to see reviews first.
  • Is this the third or fourth thread on this?
  • second, i think. i did a search before posting mine and it seemed to be the only thread dedicated to it, actually. unless there's others i haven't seen.
  • rarest wii game?
  • Reviews recently came out for the Wii U and 3DS versions. The game is sounding like it's not that good. I have both pre-ordered but I'm still excited to try it for myself...after reading the reviews I went from overly optimistic to cautiously optimistic.

Can't wait to get it in the mail next week!
  • Ehh, I like a lot of games that got shitty reviews. Aren't these thing shipping now?
  • I cancelled my pre-order for the Wii-U version (which promised the Wii version as a bonus, the only one playable to me ATM) long before they delayed it to November or whatever. At the time it was due for September. This, along with that 50 dollar Fire tablet, are items I am glad to have cancelled. Getting too caught up in the moment without waiting for any real feedback has done me many a wrong in the past. I will wait for reviews but likely will not buy it as I have given up playing Wii games period because of the emphasis on motion controls and the cheap feel of its accessories, besides a general lack of interest in its library.
  • Guys play the Wii version, it's the superior version out there. I've been playing it and let me say that this game is great in many aspects, it's like playing Sonic, NiGHTS Intro Dreams and Sin and Punishment at the same time. The voice acting is not the best but definitely not the worst. I tried the Wii U version and didn't like it that much, it has washed out colors and textures, has this weird filter on it and the controls aren't great not to mention that both the 3DS and Wii U version have performance issues.

I said almost the same thing about the control scheme in another thread about this game, how it is a cross between Sin and Punishment and Nights. I also noticed the weird filter that you speak of on Wii U and tried to ignore it but I can't. I haven't played the Wii version yet but I believe you when you say that it's better.

Give the Wii version a try, I can say that it has more stuff like faster enemies and more obstacles so it can get a like challengeing AND there is no flight meter like on the Wii U version so on the Wii version if you can point at the location you want to go then you'll definitely get there no problem.
  • Have you guys tried the Wii version yet?

It's quickly becoming my second favorite game on the console, right after Xenoblade Chronicles. It's insanely good.
  • i ended up playing the first couple of missions of the wii u version but got really put off as i thought the voice acting was super cringy. the game play felt sub par too. I'm sure one day i will give the wii version a crack.
