This method is so much more presentable. And it's much easier to pull the game you're looking for off a shelf than to flip through a dusty old binder.

I see cassette tape racks and organizers at thrift stores quite frequently.

I kinda wish the slots were slightly bigger so that I can store N64 games in them. : /

There are some pretty neat looking ones out there.

Oh, and three ring binders with sports card sleeves for me as well.

Makes storing GB/GBA a heck of a lot easier.

I used to store them in those cloth zipper case logic cases that normally store cassette tapes.

Not the best method, but it was a temporary solution.

I've heard semi-gloss paper is best, although some prefer matte.
  • I used the 4-step drawers from the container store.  http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10029421&N=&Ntt=4+drawer

The are about the size of a magazine file and original game boy games with the plastic case fit in the drawers perfectly.
  • I recently upgraded my covers from cheap paper to the Red River Paper 50lb. Premium Matte Double Sided 8.5x14. It's not as shiny as semi-gloss, but it's a heck of a lot better than the cheap stuff I was using before and matte looks shiny enough once it's under the plastic anyway. I also bought fresh OEM XL ink cartridges to print the covers. Personally, I'm done with the 3rd party ink, though some say it's ok and that paper is more important.

I used to have a same or similar boxes, binders always  is a not a good idea, when the collection is larger you need a lots of binders and space, now i use a cardboard boxes with dividers like this. BCW monster
  • Bumping this to share my recent GB, GBC, and GBA cart storage solution.

I was going through target and looking through their back-to-school and college stuff and found these plastic bins in an opaque frosty white and opaque frosty smoke gray. Each bin was $4 and had a $1 lid option. Ended up getting six boxes with lids to store my GB, GBC, and GBA carts in rows. They are bathroom bins, but seem to work pretty great for what I want.

So this method isn't great for storing my carts for display purposes, but it is great for stackability and tucking them away and pulling them out when I need them (which is what my setup best allows). They also seal fairly well so it offers a bit more protection than the cardboard boxes I was using before.

GB and GBC carts with cart covers fit perfectly standing up. The extra tall GBC carts with batteries up top have to lay sideways to fit though. Shorty GBA carts fit without problem of course, though those do slip and slide a lot given their height.

Some pics from when I was first testing out if these bins would work. Aside from the bins I got they had other sizes but these seem to work best.

  • In their boxes of course, with the manual
  • Bought a lot last week and when the games showed up, here is how the majority of them were packed.  I both chuckled and gave a solid "well played".  I don't think I'll do this, plus I'm not one to eat tic-tacs but, you know... it works!

  • Target bins look good! Tic-Tac cases look weird. Haha.
