  • I really need to quit buying stuff like this but I couldn't resist! An original painting, signed too. Really nice shape and huge - 39" x 27"

So am  just crazy or would anyone else here have also bought this for $8?

  • I have done pretty well on dvd sets the last couple of days:

    The Ascent of Man

    Jazz (Ken Burns)

The first two volumes of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection

Golf painting for $8?  My guess is you could easily get a golf fanatic to pay at least 100 for it.  I'd say that's good business.

  • Hit the jackpot at Goodwill yesterday. Found a bag of G1 transformers for $5. Looked them up and that Head is worth over a hundred by itself. Many other good ones as well. Found some muscle men which I know little about. Plus all the other stuff you see here.

  • Muscle men can be valuable to, I sold one for over $200 a few years back. It depends on the character and colour.
  • A couple of decent non-gaming deals recently. Ten bucks for the basketball and a whopping 3 dollars for all 3 coffee mugs.

2001-2002 season Orlando Magic team autographed basketball with case:

    Starbucks coffee mugs:

  • Just made a nice score at a thrift store about 45 minutes ago - The X-Files Complete Collector's Edtion on DVD. Life is good.
  • wow those starbucks mugs are pricey.
  • 4/30/15: Swung by a thrift shop and found this beauty for $12.91! All of the pieces bags are still sealed and it appears all pieces are included. The instructions are crisp. Only issue is the box (price written on it, mild crushing, hole in back) but this was a terrific and unexpected find! I will most likely sell this or give it to my nephew. Not bad at all!

  • $12 for an 800 piece set brand new is crazy, it retailed for $100.

That's AWESOME! Looks like the conquistador from Imperialism 2.

  • 3 Craftsman Tool Boxes for $75. I was lucky enough to be the first one to respond to this on CL. He told me a bunch of other people email him after I did.

  • I got this little guy in the mail today.
  • I caught a fever at the local Savers tonight.

  • ^^I have that record. Pretty cool, have you listened to it?

Outside of the titular song I haven't heard anything on the album before. I've been listening to the album tonight for the first time, I quite enjoyed listening to Do the Donkey Kong.

Feb. 27, 2015's Goodwill pickup. Both of these tapes were released in 1980. At the time, barely anybody owned a VCR due to the price and most people resorted to renting them. I paid $1 for both of them and as for value... it's up to someone who's willing to buy.

If I am not mistaken, that Alien is from Magnetic Video, which was the first company to release movies on VHS. Based in MIichigan! That is awesome. I just snagged a copy of The Making of Star Wars on that same label from 1979. How does your tape play? I just got an old Looney Tunes tape from 1979 and the first few minutes are all messed up

Yes, Alien is a Magnetic Video release. In fact, Magnetic Video would later become CBS/FOX Video and two smaller subsidiares, Key Video and Playhouse Video. We(my father and I) haven't tested it since we would like to run it while a DVD recorder is hooked up to it. We do have a tape from 1982 called 'Silence of the North' and when we played it, the Color bled a bit.

  • 225 vinyl records for $75, a lot of classic rock

Dad picked this bad boy up for $100. Just got it playing today, full of records too!
  • Now that is pretty bad-ass. You can start practicing flicking quarters into the insert coin slot.
  • ^^^ Thats awesome!
  • Rogers & Son gold-plated (I think, still looking into it) 63 piece flatware set. Looks like it was hardly used if at all. Paid a whopping $7! Either way pretty nice.

Nice, looks like a $150-$200 item.

  • Yep pretty nice. Ended up getting $100 cash for it.
  • I stumbled upon this book on the shelves at my local Savers. I don't see much original  Doctor Who merchendise in the wild besides VHS tapes, the vast majority of stuff is new series Dr. Who crap.

  • Found these on the curb the other day! They're Hall of Fame plaques from GM/Chevy for Chevy truck sales from the 60s and 70s. Wood frames and etched glass front with paper awards underneath, I think. They are really cool vintage looking pieces. They're worth about $25-$30 (on eBay, at least). (I'll probably be selling them so if anyone here happens to be interested feel free to PM me). Nothing like an awesome curb find!

  • I went out looking for games at my local flea market and found a bag of 29 classic star wars figures. Paid $7 . I also found games.
  • Went to my fiance's mom's house and she was clearing out some old stuff. She gave us these Orbitz drinks (all sealed). We thought that they were junk but looked them up online and sure enough, they are semi-valuable.

Went to a Value World and scores the Lego set for $4. Includes instructions and *appears* complete. Great finds!

  • I scored these for $60. By far my best non video game pickup. Kinda funny I have pickups worth this much or more often enough but I only sell enough to cover what I put into it, so this helps me out allot.
