Classic 4ft Tall Mario Statue
Hey everyone
It's my second post here, so sorry if I'm going against any protocol.
I believe I have searched this forum enough, but could not find any solid answers,
so I am hoping the community can help me based on how much everyone seems to know about vintage Nintendo products.
I've seen some other threads regarding a 4ft Mario Stature (Specifically the one featured on Pawn Stars).
but I have a slightly different item then that one. (Images attached)
The Mario statue I have is apparently older, and I am guessing it was used for displays around 1992-1995
It does not have a connector at the base and it can actually stand on it's own two feet without falling over.
I have seen images of statues similar to mine,
but I have never seen any pricing for them, or know how many were made, how rare, etc...
What I do know about the item I have is that it was once used for a Ninetndo Sears Display.
I was told that the statue I have was retired after the newer statue (The one seen on Pawn Stars) arrived in 1996.
Apparently Nintendo Reps wanted the item to look more similar to the Super Mario 64 model of Mario)
Take that for what it's worth.
Any knowledge or help is appreciated... and if I missed a thread concerning this topic I apologize.
Thanks
Nick

(nice looking statue you have there!)
This thing has literally been with me for two decades...
But as with everything, I may be looking to finally part with the guy.
His paint is scuffed, but overall, he's in great shape with no dents.
I'd honestly much rather have someone at this forum who appreciates this stuff like I do get it then go through ebay or craigslist.
I would consider it for sure.
Happy to talk.

The paint job and the feet look a bit different.
I threw them a quick pm.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Looks like I may have to part with it.
Sorry I did not see this message until now.
The Buttons aren't pushed in as to my knowledge...I believe there are no dents.
I will double check and get more detailed photos if you like. (I'm at the office so I will check out the item later tomorrow)
I'll hit you up with a PM

No one on NA told me the statue was worth $4k.
Sorry if there was any confusion.
I have some friends in the arcade machine circle and they believed if it was perfect, then it could run as high as $4k
to the right collector. None of them have seen my model, which is what they based their guess on.
What I have is not perfect... that's for sure.
For reference...Most members here are thinking it's valued at approximately $500-$550.
I'm still debating on selling it, and I was given advice here on how to use the NA auction forum.
I appreciate the assistance from the people that messaged.
Thanks again
Nick
