Well, it's a really strange story considering the rarity. Knew a family who had an old Nintendo. Didn't need it any longer, so they sold me the set. Tis happened to be one of the titles. Didn't know about it till aI joined on here and noticed folks seeking future releases. Don't see the family any longer, so I don't know where they got it. Let me make something clear, though, I don't have the game on me. It's at my folks house, and I was certain it was a 2008. But this rarity is making me question whether it was 2008 or 09. I'll be going there sometime this week. I'll let you know if I am crazy or not.
According to Christian's Guide.. $1000, but I wouldnt be surprised if its more.
I am not entirely sure how much research goes into that list, nor how accurate it is at this point. It would be pretty neat if a group were to stay on top of it, though, as the idea is pretty cool.

Christian was keeping it up to date as far as I know. Unless he has gotten too busy to do so.
I've managed to back track and get through '11 now. Prices need to stop rising damnit this is expensive!
I would like to find them all as well, but just cannot justify spending what they command... maybe when I strike it rich... haha
Same here. I didn't know about Retrousb until I joined here so I have bought '13 and '14 new but I had to track down '11 and '12. Hasn't been cheap but I love them!

A lot of research goes into that list, thank you very much.
I did an update like a month ago and then talked about problems I was running into with Ebay's OBO options. The main list needs to be updated on prices, but IMO it's not that hard to look at the last page of prices and ctrl+F to see if a title you're referencing sold recently.
It'll for sure be completely up to date in August, but until the Let's Play Gaming Expo is over, don't know if I'll get to a major overhaul of the frontpage. We'll see.
I knew the 2008/2009 were desired and expensive, but I had no idea the '13 sold for three figures. I bought it on a whim when it was released, and it just sits nicely on my display. Awesome lol.

The first I heard of them was when I joined here, as well... I had the chance to buy the '12 cart, but thought it was just a gimmicky cart, plus working in retail killed my Christmas spirit so anything Christmas related I wanted nothing to do with... But when the '13 cart was available, I had been starting to collect the Retrousb carts so picked up the '13 just to have it for the set.. When I got it, I had to admit there was something about having the lights shining from my toploader that really made Christmas feel more like it had when I was a kid.

I personally feel that a list like this is very important to a site such as this, especially with the reputation that it has. If it were to be maintained on a more frequent basis by a group of people, perhaps, it would be more beneficial to all. I also still have never seen this Hot Dog Eating Champion game, nor has anyone that I am aware of, because there is no such title, which may be confusing for some who read the title and then cannot find it. But this is all just constructive criticism, nothing more. I do not mean to sound like a prick

Recently got a copy of the 2008 edition, and wondering what's the usual bounty.
If you don't mind, give us the story on the acquisition!

I too am curious. Being there are only 50 copies, and only I would guess 25-30ish being accounted for. A back story would be steller.
