  • bobb-ambur <--- avoid that jagoff. Claimed a game I sold him didn't work (it did, I test all my games, douche probably needs to clean his system) so he negged me without even messaging me. I messaged him to tell him that he could have returned it... dick asked for a refund without having to send the game back in order to remove the negative. What a fucker. Hope he gets bit by a mosquito on the tip of his dick.

Can't you report that to ebay since he's trying to extort you for feedback? I think that's a case they'll actually do something about.

  • I did, but they said that since it was after he left feedback they can't do anything but send his account a warning.

Every year same times of year the returns/defects/ annoying buyers come.

What are your thoughts on the whole restocking fee thing?

what are you referring too? something new?

If I'm hitting the BIN on something it's because the seller has underpriced it by a wide margin. Those types generally don't care about defects. Fortunately they aren't so likely to know how to cancel either, but it's easier for them now if they happen to.

meh most of those types of transactions would go through just fine though.

As a seller I appreciate the ability too because sometimes there is a problem with the buyers address or and I got freaking sick of having to wait for them to accept a cancellation. Then sometimes theyd decline the cancellation and Im stuck calling ebay wasting time to get my fees back and the cancellation finished. New system for cancelling is better.

Yea, that ticks me off too.

As a buyer, I always leave feedback as soon as the package arrives.

As a seller, I always leave feedback as soon as the item is paid for.

I'm finding that too. I rarely get feedback(on Etsy), so any I get I should be happy about. But, one thing that annoys me is when someone turns the feedback section into a "product review," and actually get things about my products flat out wrong. I had someone give a very misrepresenting "review" that could easily scare away potential buyers! Instead of simply looking at the product themselves, or sending me a message with any questions, they took it upon themselves to pick it apart and give a neutral/negative feedback.

  • Yeah, it would be nice if people would reach out to the seller first before taking negative action!
  • I have to agree on the lack of etiquette lately. I do not sell much but maybe get 1 feedback for every 4 items I have sold even after following up with the buyer to see if they are happy. I will even mention that I have left feedback and ask them politely if they could do the same in return.
  • 1 in 4 sounds about right.

I don't bother following up with buyers. With how petty people are, I feel that this would more likely remind someone who wasn't happy to leave a negative then it would be to really increase my feedback all that much.
  • OT but Royal Mail....f***************g pissing me off. Apparently they tried to deliver a package twice on the 20th which was exported from the US via USPS. They left no card and it's been 10 days since and I've heard nothing. Rang Royal Mail directly and they said it was being held at my local depot. Now I knew they'd talk some BS about not having the card so I thought feck it and brought my passport as ID...I mean a passport is good enough for the friggin police so it should be good enough for them. Turns out it isn't and the idiot behind the desk scheduled a delivery tomorrow. If it doesn't come tomorrow (and I doubt they even bothered to begin with else there would have been a card left on my doorstep) then my package will be sent back to the sender. So that's like my whole day wasted tomorrow when I'm not working.

In short, I'm annoyed! Stupid ass red tape mofos!

    /rant

NB - I get that 99% of you won't have a clue what Royal Mail is lol.
  • So I'm looking for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS. The four places by me don't have it, so my last resort is Gamestop. I call them, they have it. Here's the conversation that ensues:

Me: "Oh, you have it. Splendid! How much does it cost?"

    Gamestop: "$40."

Me: "Oh, it's a new copy?"

    Gamestop: "No, it's used."

    Me: "But, new it's $39.99..."

    Gamestop: "But it's used."

Me: "Exactly. Shouldn't it be a little bit cheaper being used? Isn't that the normal way you do things?"

    Gamestop: "Sir, it's used..."

Me: "I GET THAT. If I went to Target I can buy it brand new for the same price."

Gamestop: "Why would you go buy it new if you can save some money getting it used?"

    Me: "But it's $40."

    Gamestop: "Yes."

    Me: "Used."

    Gamestop: "Yes, sir."

Me: "Are you messing with me? Is this a prank or something?"

    I don't get it hahaha.

They're having a b2 g1 free sale right now. Go get some other first party Nintendo titles that are around $40, like Captain Toad and whatnot. Then, you'd essentially be spending $30 (including tax) on Dream Drop Distance.

Hahahaha, that's true. eBay's customer service is terrible. Probably one of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with.
  • I think I've pretty much had it with the USPS. Absolutely horrible lately. I've lost a good $200 or so from "lost" packages or damaged packages. A month ago I sent out a few CIB n64 games, in a box, plus lots of bubble wrap and somehow the shitty post office must've dropped an anvil on it or something and absolutely CRUSHED all of the box's contents. So I basically had to refund the buyer over $100 worth of stuff and then I received the boxes and stuff back and the stuff looked like it was put through a blender. WTF!??!? So that's MY fault I guess huh? Then last week I sold another N64 game with tracking and insurance (supposedly) that is tracked right now as "delivered" and between the buyer and myself talking to the post office, the conclusion is the post office "lost" it. WTF!?!? And to top of it off, they are showing that I had no insurance on it. Wonderful. Fuck you, USPS.
  • So I had a buyer pay me for an item on July 4th. On Monday I get an angry email asking why the item wasn't shipped. There was no mail service for the weekend. I had planned on making a label that night, but decided to just refund the buyer and apologize. I don't like dealing with angry people on ebay, I've had personal threats against my life before so I'm a bit paranoid. Especially since the person had 3 feedback.

So the buyer emails me asking me why I canceled. I explain and apologize again. The buyer asks if I'm going to ship there item (yesterday). I tell them no because I refunded them. I block their account and then relist the item.

Today the buyer rebought my item under a different account. I'm going to cancel the transaction, block the new account, and take the item I'm selling off ebay. Seriously though, wth?
  • I just want to know if anyone else today has went on eBay & typed n64 in the search then clicked new listing? It seems someone listed there collection individually but is asking $500 for each game and there all common

I saw this. My guess is the seller is just posting everything and will go back and edit later.

you should have just politely said back after the first message.

" Since you purchased this item on Saturday July 4th, It is impossible to ship till Monday July 6th. The Post Office is closed on Weekends. Your item will be shipped out Monday, the first day possible."

That would educate them without making them mad. You confused them by cancelling and just made it worse. Buyers on ebay most of the time are just ignorant to the real world. You have to guide them as if they were a child.

My tracking on ebay has been terrible. Had a few packages I shipped thursday and Friday not update to accepted even though they did on the USPS site. But even after that they just didnt update for quite some time. Still have a couple that say nothing. Already had one person asking me when I am going to ship their item even though I shipped it the same day he bought it last week. Stupid USPS and ebay.

True, if the first message hadn't been so mean spirited I would have. I just got a really bad feeling from the buyer.

I once had someone threaten to come to my house and beat me up because of a $5 misunderstanding on ebay (over wii sports). Ebay like actually had to get involved because I was terrified. They had my address and name. It was bad times. It was also a very stupid arguement thing on both parts. Since then though I just cancel something if I get a bad vibe.

However your advice is advice that pretty much anyone should follow and I agree with it.

Like Quest said you need to treat your buyers as if they are clueless how things work in the real world. Depending on when the auction ended and when on Saturday they paid I can see some buyers being over eager on wanting it shipped. Some buyers think you have your keys in your hand waiting for them to pay so you can run their package straight to the post office. Taking the time to guide your buyer would have been the appropriate thing to do in thge situation. Think canceling the item really pissed the already "angry" bidder off further. Best thing as a seller to do is always follow through on sales and keep your buyer notified.
