Nice place, I think I'll hang out

I'm a programmer from Silicon Valley, and have been dabbling in NES programming recently after researching the architecture for a PC-based "retro" game engine and got interested in doing it on the real hardware instead. Professionally I program in C and ARM assembly on Linux (and in bootloaders). As a hobby I enjoy FORTH programming and game programming (in C typically).

I also have a modest collection of NES games, mostly ones I like (around 50 carts). I need to start keeping an inventory so I can remember what I have and what I don't. I tend to play on a RetroDuo because the socket on it is a little more reliable than the funny ZIF on the original NES, even if the RD's graphics aren't quite the same as the original. (but the S-Video output on it is handy)

Favorite games for NES (in no particular order): Metroid, most of the megaman series, River City Ransom, Zelda, Kickle Cubicle, Dig Dug II, Journey to Silius, Maniac Mansion, Deja Vu, Blaster Master, The Guardian Legend, Life Force, Gradius, RC Pro-Am, Little Nemo, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I think one day I would like to write a massive adventure game for NES.
