Athletic World Box
Hey guys, I know this is the rarer version of the Athletic World box. Just hoping the experts can chime in here on how rare it is, and more importantly what the value might be in it's current condition (tear on front - started at sticker seal, missing half of hang tab). The box also came with the rarer version of the cart (Series 1), but no manual. I already have another cart and 2 manuals so this will complete my CIB.
The only one I could find on eBay here.
NA database lists the box as an R8 with the following info:
"Athletic World had several releases, the first one being the (now) infamous "Family Fun Fitness" (FFF) version, having a hangtab and sticker-seal box. Also note that this box is white, not gray. This is the original version that only came packaged inside the Family Fun Fitness pad (later to become the Power Pad when Nintendo bought the rights to it). Because Nintendo bought the rights to the FFF pad, the early version game and pad were pulled from shelves, effectively shortening its shelf life. As a result, the box for this version is rare. How rare is a question we're still attempting to answer, but in late 2007, at least 6-7 more appeared in collector's hands, lowering it's perceived rarity of 10 to a 9.
Another peculiar version is the "double-ended" box, where the opens from both the top and bottom (the bottom does not have the normal interlocking cardboard flaps)."
Thanks in advance for feedbacks!

Nope, no manual was with the box. However I do have an extra manual for it. I didn't think the cart and manual would affect value too much as they are far more common, hence why I was only asking about the box (and because of course there are some large flaws).
Is is there anything special about the specific manual for this version other than having "FFF" on it?
Look at the NA database for NES and you can see the pictures of the different manuals. The common one has a picture of the guy on the cover and is probably worth $2, the rare one says "Family Fun Fitness" on the cover, no guy pictured, and is easily 3 digits.
Also, and I might be mistaken here, but I believe I have 2 FFF manuals. One in pretty good condition and the other in poor shape. I'll include a couple pics of those as well.

No, the manual is equally as rare as the box and should be a $100-$150, if not more. The rarity scores on this site aren't perfect, it should be an R8 as well. I actually think the manual is rarer than the box, but rarity scores are opinions and subjective, not literal facts.

Thanks Jone I wasn't aware that this manual was this rare. Strangely enough the only 2 copies of this manual I have ever come across are both the FFF variant. Thankfully one is in pretty great shape that I can keep with the box and cart. The other one has a large tear along the front spine and some small staining, creasing, wear. I've had this spare for about a year now and have taken it to a few local NA meet ups now and it hasn't seen any interest. Do you still think that the torn copy would fetch 3 digits in this condition? I did notice 1 eBay completed listing with cart and manual (in better condition) for $99.99.
Thanks again for the expertise dude!
--- Shameless plug that I have a spare cart and manual (pictured right side) for trade/offer!
