Questions about Bart & the Beanstalk CIB worth

Hi guys, last day I found a complete copy of the game for 18$. Manual and card are in very good condition. However, the box is another matter. It was teared up but I managed to give it some assurance.

I know it is a very rare game to own with box and Manual, but I wonder what is the worth of it? Its complete, in english and it works perfectly. I dont intend to sell it, but I had an argument with a friend about it. I was told it didnt worth more than 50 dollars because that the rare version is a spanish according to ebay (...) That particuliar spanish version sold for near 300$ in perfect condition. On Nintendo Age, the box and manual score a nice 7 in rarity.

So to sum it up : How much a USA complete version of the game worth? Is the spanish version alot more rare and worthwhile?

IMO, a Simpsons game doesnt hold interest to most people who think it doesnt worth crap. Sometime the apparence are false and it might be the reason why the price seem to be so inconsistent.

  • I just sold my mint CIB for around $200. Are those  lines on the box tears or just wears? Also did you use glue to fix the tears? I think you could sell it for around $100, but it will be a tough sell.
  • Hello,

The box was teared up on the front ; front image separated from the box itself. I did used some glue to replace the image on the box and it worked wonder to me. You really dont want to see what the box looked like before. However I do know that the actual worth might have taken a hit for this. But like I said, I do not intend to sell

Here's more pictures I did after using some glue, but before cleaning it.

  • In mint condition it is a $200 to $250 game. In your condition I say $80 to $120 tops.

I bought the CIB ESP (spanish) version off ebay a few years back for $25 shipped. Box not in the best shape.

I bought my USA copy off ebay at the same time for $125.
  • Mint is closer to $300, maybe above that IMO. Not sure about one with wear.
  • A sealed one just sold on ebay for like $225
  • Elmers's Glue !!! it"s the best and taste the best. haha Joking... but that is a good find.
  • Hi guys, I recently got hold on to one CIB as well. However I cannot find any info on why the box make this game so expensive. I mean was this game like a pack-in or something like Super mario world that you find loose under every rock you turn but a box on is quiet rare?
  • A lot of Gameboy games are like that. In many cases the box may be 80%+ of the CIB value because boxes were thrown out so frequently on GB items. No fancy story, just a box that is very difficult to track down.
  • Gameboy is definitely one of those systems where boxes make up the most value. I'd also pay more for a manual than I would the game, but, some others refuse.
  • white glue should never be used on boxes/manuals/labels etc- it's going to deform when it dries. if you absolutely have to glue something, get some non-wrinkle or archival glue.
  • The box doesn't look horrible despite the huge rip down it. But that will still greatly reduce its value. I'd say it's worth ~$100.
