Contra Hard Corps Sealed Genesis

Again, for starters, legit seal? Second question, what's it valued at?

  • The Toys R Us sticker is a great sign, but I'm no expert on Genesis seals, especially Majesco releases.
  • Can't comment for sure if it's real, but should be in the 100-150 range depending on condition. Obviously less desirable than the clamshell release.

Why exactly are the cardboard less desirable? I kind of dig them more. Were the clamshells a more rarer version or just simply more appealing?

The cardboard Majesco games were re-releases and not the original print. That alone makes them less valuable. Additionally, they came with a black and white manual, instead of a color one, and a lower quality label that was more prone to wear, so it's a lower quality product overall. They're the same company that did the "Made in Mexico" SNES games.

Edit: They also did not include any of the original goodies, such as posters and whatnot. Some games were only released by Majesco, but ones that were re-released by Majesco don't command the same value sealed as the original print as a sealed game or as a CIB.
  • Sweet, thanks for the information.
