Comments

  • its only worth your reputability...

its not certified and you have no proof it is real.
  • like fax said. if you had something to prove its authentic, it will bring more.

it would cost you a few bucks, but you could throw it on ebay starting at .99 and set the reserve at $1000 and see what happens...

if you like what the results, offer it to the highest bidder.
  • signatures never really have a set price. it's always depends on the buyers who want it.

Not only is it badass it sticks in the craw of the first reply he received.  Negative assumptions are a plague.

Negative assumptions are default assumptions. People are innocent until proven guilty. Things are assumed fake until proven authentic by a reasonable measure. Not trying to be a dick. That's just basic marketplace integrity.

Anyhow, nice pics op, looks legit! good luck with the sale.

  • OH! And guys, Miyamoto signed my coffee cup today!!!! Anyone wanna buy it???

No need for any negative assumptions!

  • Faxanadude was giving advice, not being rude. It's true that without some kind of proof, signatures aren't worth much.

I have a signed Animation cel from Kenichi Sonoda, but unfortunately I don't have a photo or any proof that it's his signature, other than I can tell people what event I got it signed at
  • Even certificates are only as good as the reputation of the issuer. You are totally within your rights to draw up your own certificate for anything and just slap it on. Certificate doesn't mean anything, only repute of the issuer. Learn this stuff so you don't get taken for a ride.
  • Nobuo has signed a lot of stuff from being at so many conventions and Distant Worlds shows, and he's still alive signing things. It adds value, but not much.

I went to the very first FF concert that came to America, 'Dear Friends'.

Chicago had the second live FF concert ever on US soil after New York ... and there was Uematsu, in the audience fairly close to where I was sitting ... but AFAIK he wasn't signing. Doh! Maybe if I would've paid a lot extra for a backstage pass? idk...

May be.... But a Original Nes FF 1 signed in box and cart ?

  • Nobuo didnt create Final Fantasy, he just composed the music. He gets too much mis-placed credit.

HOWEVER, that is one hell of a nice item, OP!

This is important, if the signer is still running the convention circuit, it's not so much a matter of authenticity as most of the people who care have already got the signatures themselves. OP might be looking at a $15-20 premium for doing the legwork.

That is actually pretty sweet, even as a gag. I love how "he" had to space his name out over two lines as opposed to writing across the rest of the cup. Well played.

  • I know that with books, signatures are assumed real until proven false, rather than the other way around. And there are experts who will authenticate signatures/handwriting for most well-known authors. Just saying. I have books signed by Robert Frost, Robert heinlein, Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffrey, Anne Rice, and about 2 dozen other popular authors, living and dead. And for many older books, there was no way to get a photo of the signature being written, or even anyone still alive who saw it.

Then again, this is books I am talking about, and y'all are talking about games. There is a world of difference But there are probably people out there (somewhere) who can authenticare a Nobuo, or even a Miyamoto, signature for you, if needed. (the miyamoto one may not make the cut, though )
