Flinstones 2 NES with different label

Hi guys,

I recently bought a copy of Flintstones 2 for NES code FAH for the PAL system. I know the original is worth a lot. The weird thing about this one is that the label says Mission impossible, while the game is Flintstones 2. I didnt pay a lot for it, just fun to have it. Could anyone explain how label thing could have happened? Is there any information about a bunch of Flintstones 2's with miss prints or something?

Thanks!

  • Pretty sure Flintstones 2 is the rare and valuable one. Probably someone swapped the front from MI for a Flintstones 2 and sold/conned the MI cart for good money (buyer thinking they had a rare cart). Then kept the valuable board.

Very much doubt there was a factory misprint or error.
  • Thanks for the reply. Could be that someone took the Flintstones label and used it on another game. But that doenst explain why i got the Flintstones 2, since its the game itself thats worth something. That means they swopped labels and sold me the Flintstones game for dirt cheap
  • And to be on topic, what would this game be worth?

I know its Flintstones 2, cause i played it, but besides that how do i prove its the real game
  • You should open up the cart to verify it's a legit board and go from there.
  • Ok cool, i will start with that
  • Can you take a picture of the board and post it here? I would love to see the cart and board to see if it's the legit PROMs (chips).
  • Yeah, i need to get the proper screwdriver. Once opened, i ll take some pics and post them. Thanks!
  • Probably a rental swap situation.

I was thinking the same thing, a buddy of mine used to do this in Elementary School.
  • used to happen with vhs tapes all the time...

renal stores started putting security stickers on screw holes, and if it was broken or missing, you just bought it.

a funny thing i came across recently was a blockbuster "please be kind and rewind" sticker....not on a vhs tape, but a snes cart lol
  • So i took it apart and it doesnt really look legit

The board seems to be from Nintendo, but the chips are from Singapore,it doenst say NES and there's a peace of tape on it.

a repro with the wrong label. That has to be rare....Worthless, but rare
  • That's a fake
  • If I bought that from a store advertising it as Flintstones 2, I'd be demanding my money back especially if it was on e-bay.
  • yep, fake. get a refund.
  • I paid 20 euro for it and kinda figured it was not gonna be the real thing. It was worth the try
