ave different colored carts

I have a chance to buy unliscensed carts. The problem I have is should I pay more for the carts that are black instead of blue, or vice a versa? I generally use price charting but at this point I don't know if thats a good resource for these games. Also this same person has some high end games (little samson and Dino peak) how can I be sure these aren't boards from pal versions or anything like that?

  • Well, if you want to tell what region the board is from, you'll need board pics. The EPROM should have a code on it that matches the code on the box, manual, and cart of the release. So, for Little Samson:

    NA = NES-LT-0

    PAL = PAL-LT-0

    Dunno about the prices on black/blue color variants, though. I'll let someone else tackle that beast.

    actually, that works better with the PAL B version of Flintstones 2 which was only released with an SCN code,

    The PAL B version of Little Samson has SCN / NOE / ESP as codes to choose from,

    eventhough all of em are completely english.

  • In regards to the unlicensed, black carts of the Color Dream games are usually more 'expensive' and less common than the blue versions

    Yep. You caught me. It looks like they all have the same code on the EPROM, though. PAL-LT-0.

    I edited my post, did some fact checking, and updated it with the correct codes. Instead of:

    NA = NES-LT-USA

    PAL = NES-LT-SCN

    They're supposed to be

    NA = NES-LT-0

    PAL = PAL-LT-0

    My bad.

    Yes and they are also much less likely to change colors with age. Hot danm those teal carts look bad today.
  • the reason I have fear about the potential of them being pal boards is that they have other pal games. As we all know these games have been really high on prices so I just don't want to end up getting copies that could be pal versions. I'm not big on pal games but I'm sure it would affect the price of them
  • If there are any black unlicensed carts your not interested in, or want to buy and sell for a few bucks more, PM me. I am always looking for them.
