Searching for a USB Composite capture Devices for PC Laptop
Has anyone experimented with the budget USB video capture devices? I need one for a Laptop so USB is mandatory.
Composite and Svideo inputs would be perfect
Mainly I need this for a wide array of Low resolution devices like early game consoles and PXL2000 modded camcorders.
Any tips would be great.
Tried a cheap Diamond $30 unit from amazon but the software was trash and it would not install on my Win7 machine.

I find the crummy Easycap (or clones) works surprisingly well with weaker PC hardware. If your laptop is a beast, try a Happauge, Dazzle or Sabrent brand capture device.
This question really depends on the specs of your laptop. There are USB capture devices that are either software or hardware driven. Getting the best performance depends on how good your laptop is and which type of capture device you buy.

I have several laptops ranging from slow to high-end IBMs
I was looking at the Easycap or clones. The $30 diamond brand seemed to be just that. But I had zero luck with it working (dud?)
This device is not needed for highend video recoding. I'm looking for any budget portable video capture that is low resolution friendly. Some will not recognize 240p
