Mike Tyson Intergalatic Power Punch

Well here we go guys and gals.  MTIPP for everyone to enjoy as promised.  The ROMs are attached below and will be available on the front page of NA as well.  The game has some different in game mechanics as well, so there are quite a few differences.

Big thanks to DreamTR for being a hoarder hehe image  We really appreciate you giving us a chance to play these Dream and hopefully can work together like this on future projects as well.  Also want to thank bunnyboy for getting this dumped and making some quick repros for us which are available now! http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=71

NA is such a great community to be able to get projects like these done.  Great job everyone, and thanks to all the donors!  Enjoy your new icons, no more will ever be given out now!

  • Nice work everyone, good job getting everything together NGD. Hopefully we will see more projects like this in the future.
  • repro ordered... yay!!
  • Congrats to everyone involved in this..

Anyone good at this game? I suck at training...
  • I hope this might see a CIB release, just due to the massive amount of cooperation to get it dumped... I think it's safe to assume the interest is there! I don't have a CIB MTPO, but if this was released CIB I'd have to buy it as well as a CIB MTPO just so I could put them together on the shelf.
  • Ha! this game is HORRIBLE! Glad to have it released though. image
  • W000000000t! Gonna test it now image
  • Time to squash alien scum.
  • Nice, I'm holding out for a CIB or I probably won't purchase it. Glad to be part of the cause though!
  • Awesome! Let the suck-fest begin lol!!!

Does anyone know what mapper this game uses so I could make a repro for myself?
  • I'm glad the repro is in a grey case for this one.
  • Thank you everyone for all the cooperation.

I would like to get a copy of the ROM without the April 2009 NA mark on the title screen, to me its not a ROM of the original proto with this. Please PM if this is can be done.

Again thank you all very much.

It's plain MMC3, and almost any MMC3 board will work.  You can check the specs for Power Punch 2 to get the exact info.
  • Woot! got the ROM and got my repro ordered. image

There's a good reason why that stuff was changed. So we can tell the real deal apart from all the repros made of unreleased stuff. Nothing gameplay wise was changed, and I just want to protect it from all the repros out there and anyone claiming it is a real proto....

Once repros of stuff started coming out, a lot of people tried passing them off as the real thing, so I don't see why anyone would want the "real" text of this unless they want it for other reasons.

  • Ugh! This version seems even harder than the regular one! Still awsome tho, I'm going to try to actually beat this game
  • repro ordered, thanks everyone who contributed and of course thanks to DreamTR and bunnyboy.....so where do i sign up for war on wheels image

I simply wanted an exact ROM image for my own personal interest nothing more, yes I plan on making a repro from it, but only for myself. I appreciate why you have done this and understand completely.

I was planning on making some repros of MTIPP to sell to raise money to help get the next ROM released, all of those would benefit from the added text and only that ROM would be used for that purpose.

All I can offer is my honest word that a repro without the added text would go no further than my collection shelf and that the ROM itself would be deleted once I have made it.

  • War on Wheels IS a possibility, but it will take some money = )

And Marvelus, I'm not saying YOU particularly, but it protects everyone involved with the ROM and the real cart.
  • Sweet, got me my ROM and pre-ordered the game, finally it's a reality!
  • I understood it wasn't directed at me. I don't blame you for needing to do it. I'm glad you did for that exact reason.
  • Glad to see this was brought to fruition. My attempt at contribution (I had a certain item I wanted to auction for the cause) was too little, too late, but it will be auctioned off for part of the next community ROM release (assuming there is another community ROM release).

And I guess I should add this to the pile of things I want to order from RetroZone but don't have the money with which to order, heh image .
  • There's a repro? *orders*

    I thought DreamTR said he didn't want any repros done, which was why I didn't donate. I'm not a big ROM guy. ^^;;;
  • C.I.B please!!!
  • Sweet. Thanks to everyone involved image
  • Yay, another Beam Software release! Go Aussies image
  • I don't mind repros as long as that title screen was changed, LOL, that's all.
  • So the people who paid for this game doesn't even get a non-watermarked rom? ... I sure am happy that Lost Level didn't watermark all their releases.
  • Right, because the watermark is what matters about this release. /sarcasm
  • it's not just this release.... NGD watermarked both his releases, Retrozone did the same with Airball (can't remember if cuestick had one also), now "NintendoAge" on behalf of the people who paid to have it dumped.
