Beat Aero Fighters Assault with the normal ending today not sure if it needed to be the special ending. Didn't even realize there was a special ending until I looked it up after finishing it, this was first time I've played it.

Unfortunately, the special ending is necessary. I tried to achieve it and I found it to be SO hard, so I abandoned and moved to another game. You need to complete the four bonus levels, so that way, you can beat the real boss, Pandora, and get the credits. To get the four bonus levels, look up on gamefaqs.com, there's the information. Congrats for beating the Fortress, though. I hope you'll be able to get it, because I wasn't able to.
Went through and beat all the bonus missions and got the good ending for Aero Fighters Assault. I used the first plane you can choose the F-14B Tomcat piloted by Hawk. I can't believe I have had this game just sitting on the shelf and never played it it was really pretty fun. I was almost ready to give up on the last boss in the space stage then got him with only having a hair of life left on my 3rd try.

Woah ! You did great. Good job, man. Did you play on Easy ? Maybe that's the reason you got it, since I played on Normal (I thought you could only get the true credits that way). If you have completed the game on Normal, you have all my respect (on Easy too). I agree with you about the game being good, it is really a nice game. Here's my favorite track from the game:
Finally beat goemons great adventure lol it took me sometime as I have been very busy this week. I loved this game so much and will be playing it again soon for sure!

Aaannnddd... You're in first place !
I didn't realise that the game absent been beaten in 4 years but anyway I am off to jet force
International Track & Field 2000, or Controller Destroyer 2000, is done ! Indeed, the game makes you button mash your A and B buttons (or C-left and C-right) and there is even an event (Hammer Throw) with the same gameplay as the joystick minigame in Mario Party. The game is pretty good as it is challenging (that's what I like about video games), but there is an event which is just unforgiving (I'm looking at you, 110m hurdles). Except that, I found it very easy for an "unforgiving" game (like gamefaqs.com suggest). I would say it's good if you have a third party controller or already have a controller with a loose joystick, like mine. 4 more games and we beat the 2013 record (138) ! Let's go guys !
Pictures:
This is the Trial Mode. It's in this mode you unlock the four unlockable events which are:
- Triple Jump
- 100m Breaststroke
- Vault
- Trap Shooting
You can see them in the picture. To unlock Trap Shooting, you need to get Gold Medals on all the other events and that was the biggest challenge I completed on this game. That proves I did everything that there is to do in this mode.
Next, Championship Mode !
In this mode, the game selects 8 random events and you need to success in them to get in first place at the end. I got it !
My score:
"Thank you, thank you ! I'm blushing !":

Should I do Star Wars Episode I: Racer or StarCraft 64 next ?
I started Quest 64 last night and its' really not that bad. It's another one of those cases where I enjoyed it back when it came out (since it was the only RPG for system at the time) but over time I came to realize it's nowhere near as good an RPG as I thought. But playing it again I expected the worst. And I'm actually mildly entertained by it. There are some really glaring holes in its structure - generic story, lots of emptiness in the world, no currency system or shops, and WAY too frequent random battles. But I like the battle system and the concept of it is unique and pretty cool. The game also filled a very important void for me in 1998 as I was big into RPGs back then and choosing PS1 over N64 meant this was my only option. I'll definitely be playing this one for the next week or two.
I completed Chopper Attack on Normal difficulty today. There was an animated cutscene showing the helicopter rotating with triumphant music, but there was no text (including credits) and it goes straight to "GAME OVER" afterward, with no congratulations or anything.
I assume there will be a better ending on Expert, which we should require anyway because of the extra level. I'll start my second playthrough soon.
The ending on Expert is still pretty lame, though; the only difference is that you land and are surrounded by the POWs you've rescued. Otherwise no credits, congratulations, or other fanfare -- it just loops until you hit Start, whereupon you go straight to GAME OVER.
BTW for folks playing this in the future, it's worth replaying most levels to make sure you're getting the largest amount of $$$ possible; on my first playthrough, getting a higher score on Mission 6 made it much easier to tackle Mission 7. Try to leave Missions 6 and 7 with around $500k minimum. Also keep in mind that enemies you don't defeat will actually roll over to the next stage, so there's every reason to be as thorough as possible.
Here's a list of short games if you, guys, want to beat them:
The only ones I have on that list are Dark Rift and Gretzky '98. Actually, I might as well list the ~30 games I own that aren't beaten yet:
Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M.
Asteroids Hyper 64
Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs
Blues Brothers 2000
Centre Court Tennis (I have the Japanese version, Let's Smash!)
Command & Conquer
Dark Rift
F1 Pole Position 64
F-1 World Grand Prix
Forsaken 64
Gex 64: Enter The Gecko
Jet Force Gemini
Lode Runner 3-D
Mario Golf
Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Nagano Winter Olympics '98
Nightmare Creatures
Off Road Challenge
Quake II
Rat Attack!
Re-Volt
Shadowgate 64: Trial of the Four Towers
Superman
Top Gear Rally
Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue
Vigilante 8
Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey '98
WCW vs NWO: World Tour
Wipeout 64
Battlezone, Centre Court Tennis/Let's Smash, Mortal Kombat Mythologies, and Rat Attack are the main possibilities I'm looking at for my next game.
OTOH I can promise that I won't touch Forsaken with a 10-foot pole; even playing that for 5 minutes makes me feel ill. I'm not likely to go near Quake II or Command & Conquer either.
EDIT: Ha, Michel, I just saw your PM. Looks like we had similarly "strategic" thoughts. Superman is all yours, though I must say that when I played it earlier this year for a while, it didn't seem nearly as bad as I expected.
EDIT #2: I've started playing Off Road Challenge and made it to the third circuit, but man, that game turns nasty later on. I may not have chosen the best vehicle and may have to restart.
Man, have I been out of the loop. 136 is awesome! We'll break the 2013 mark for sure now. (Provided a meteor doesn't destroy us all.) I started a few games before I stopped playing back in like May. This included Superman. I think I was almost halfway through it. It's the worst game I've ever played. EVER! It's also kind of long with 14 levels (seven "ride" levels and 7 "action" levels.) I hope I can get back to it and the others I was working on soon.
Also, whoever beat Aerofighters Assault, thank you so so much. I tried that one out after RetroMichel's rant about it and there is just no way I'd have the patience right now to get good enough to beat that game.
Excitebike 64 is done ! I will say that it's a fun game. It could have been a better game if you weren't falling all the time, though. In Pro Mode, the racers are programmed to make you fall and it is not fun at all. Pretty frustrating. At first, I was disappointed with the game, and then I played the tutorial. Pretty complex controls, but once you get the hang on them, it's fun. Also, I must say that it is repetitive and some races look just the same. I don't have a lot to say about this game, I'm neutral about it.
Nice! I used to play this a lot when I was a kid and it took me a really long time to beat all the races. The controls are indeed complex and the AI is cheap as all hell. The track design is great, though. I know the indoor tracks may seem similar, but they differ quite a bit. This is the best Motocross game on the N64 by a long shot. That doesn't make it a great game, but it is definitely playable. Also, if you have a friend over, you should play the Soccer mode. Hands down the game's best feature.
Space Invaders is done. It's a really fun game, albeit short. It took me less than an hour to beat it. The ending sucks. It just shows a few random pics of you destroying aliens and presumably receiving a medal at the white house. You unlock classic Space Invaders after you beat it, which would have probably been a lot cooler for me back in 1999. The gameplay of this update is basically the same but there all sorts of new power ups, special attacks, and bosses. It's definitely worth your time.

Welcome back ! Cool to hear about Superman, but did you know you can only beat the game on Hard to really finish it ? cheaterdragon1 told me about it recently and I forgot to add it to the list, with the "/" (meaning how to complete specific games) before it.
Only one more game to equal 2013's score, BTW !
Nice job everyone, and congrats on beating Space Invaders, link463 !

Considering that the head of the development team said the game was only 10% finished, that comes as a shock to me. I was playing it on Easy, so I guess that means I have to start over. Sigh...
I just beat Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2. It wasn't nearly as difficult as the first one. They nerfed nearly every weapon and added only one or two new weapons. There are some nifty locales and a few new enemies, but they still fall way too easily. The hardest part of the game is keeping certain characters alive in various missions. It's really easy for them to get mowed down if you aren't careful. Worst of all, the game still suffers from the shaky controls and slow to catch up camera. Overall, the game was still somewhat enjoyable, but not as good as the other N64 entries. I didn't take pics of the ending because I didn't think the game was over. It ends on a cliffhanger.
I'm not sure what I'm going to tackle next. I need to start working through those football games. I read a guide for Superman and you do indeed have to beat the game on Hard to truly beat it. Ugh! I'm going to try, but if anyone else wants to make a run, be my guest. You will not hurt my feelings if you finish it first. I also started Gex 64. It's my first time ever playing a Gex game. I'm not really impressed so far. The controls are really clunky and the game comes off as a second rate Banjo Kazooie. I saw that it's been beaten before, so hopefully I can work some magic there.
Quest 64 is killing me with boredom. I've just reached the halfway point. I'm still working on it but I can only play for about an hour at a time without being bored to death.
On a side note, I got Killer Instinct Gold in the mail as a bonus with another game I ordered, which was an unexpected surprise. I haven't played Killer Instinct Gold since I rented it in 1997. I forgot how good this game is. I'm having a blast with it. I know it's already marked off as completed in this thread but I just wanted to share. I'm not big on fighting games (mostly because I suck at them) but I finished every mode on at least medium difficulty, and I'm just having a lot of fun with the game. (Kim Wu + Sabrewulf FTW!)

I love SBK2. Really fun game along with the first one. I really want the second game but it's a little out of my budget for right now.
