Conker's Bad Fur Day motherboard problems :(

Hey guys,

So I bought a N64 lot from a family member and paid quite a sum because he was selling me CBF day and, because I was in such a delight to finally get the game, I never bothered to test it. Once I got home, I discovered that the metal contact points (i.e., the part that slides into the contact point reader in the console) are extremely worn. I tried my best to clean them, but some of the contacts are missing entirely from the motherboard, particularly on the back side. I am also not skilled enough to do a chip transfer. Are there any other ways to ressurect and/or replace individual metal contacts?

I wish I had a picture I could post for reference, but I think my description seems alright.

  • im not sure how worn they are but that sounds like water damage for the pins to be missing. there are a few ways to fix one you can ty to add some solder to the area with out a pin. or you can do a chip transfer. i think there are people on here that will do it for you.
  • pcb swap is the only proper fix.
  • Do not try to solder to worn down pins, the only fix is to swap the Conker ROMs onto a new board.

Here's a list of games that use 16Kbit EEPROM like Conker.

    Banjo-Tooie

    Conker's Bad Fur Day

    Cruis'n World

    Donkey Kong 64

    Excitebike 64

    Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside

    Mario Party 3

    Mario Tennis

    Perfect Dark

    Ridge Racer 64

    Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

    Yoshi's Story

And a list of games that use the CIC-NUS-6105 like Conker:

    Banjo-Tooie

    Conker's Bad Fur Day

    Donkey Kong 64

    Jet Force Gemini

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The

    Mickey's Speedway USA

    Perfect Dark

Between the two lists, Perfect Dark is a direct swap, but I don't remember if Conker uses two ROM chips or not. Most N64 games have only one ROM socket.
