Thats a 10 Star difficulty.. Most games don't have a OST CD except some limited releases etc. you gotta Download and burn them from those that rips ost. I used to download from torrent sites from other users but I dont recommend it because of viruses etc. just FYI.. Ebay is a good place but very limited to what you can get. google is your friend. Good luck.
Yeah. Finding specific game sound tracks is extremely hard. More so because rarely were there any sound tracks released for retro games. Off the top of my head the only one I can think of is the Bare Knuckle sound track, and even that is something of a huge pain in the ass to acquire. More recent games, however, tend to always sell themselves by offering the game sound track as part of the bundle. But that's something you already knew. The best way I can think to search for modern game sound tracks that you want on CD is to type in *game name*collector's edition music. If you find a resource that specializes in game sound tracks, that would be grand.
I was thinking about making my own OSTs from my mp3 collection. You know, printing out labels, buying jewel cases etc. They charge a lot for OSTs, especially since they all have to be imported. And a lot of great games don't even have OSTs available, which sucks. I think this would be a fun project.

I've actually though about this as well-- I already have lightscribe discs ready, I'm just waiting for a part for my CD/DVD burner. I was thinking of making a CD Box set-- I've just haven't decided what games to use yet.
All these places carry completely authentic soundtracks. Many of the soundtracks on ebay are counterfeits.
If you ever see any soundtracks from SonMay or EverAnime DO NOT buy them. These are 2 of the biggest bootleg companies. (Assuming you want legit OST's, if not then go right ahead)

I used to buy OSTs at a premium at cons. We're talking 70+ dollars a pop for some of them. But it turned out they were all Chinese reprints and I didn't know any better at the time. Then I went to Japan and about crapped a brick when I saw how much the real Japanese OSTs are even before import fees. WTF.
I long since thew away the cases I had for a lot of my Chinese knockoff OSTs but still have the disks.
I'm wanting to make cassette cases for Game Boy games and have learned how to print a nice quality on semi-gloss paper. Repros are sorta okay in my book if the games were never released in my country... the OSTs were also never released in my country (except for small compilation disks )
Over the years this all helped convince me that this is a good idea. mwahahahaha
I need to get a lightscribe burner! But at least for now I can give my loose disks a home.
Most of the game soundtracks released in Japan nowadays are around $30. It's really not that expensive anymore.
30 a pop for single disks, sure. 4-disk soundtracks were 70, 90. And there are a bunch of rares. I suppose if you're going after modern OSTs it's not too bad, but I want retro. And I'm already a few thousand in the hole on OSTs, as they turned out to be pirated.
Check the VGMdb forums - they have a marketplace and you may be able to find what you're looking for there. Just make sure there's an OST to begin with.
DK, zelda soundtracks...etc. At this point though I'm thinking I just need to burn a CD because I want certain songs and don't necessarily need the whole soundtrack to certain games.
You guys are all badass & I'm thrilled I joined this forum. Thanks so much for all the information guys!

& it's been a while since I've burned a disk but that looks like it might be my only option. Thank you guys for the input! I really appreciate it!
Yeah I've been looking around and the rare few I find are about $150 or so... not exactly what I'm looking to spend...

what exactly are you looking for? what games ost's.
FF7 and Killer Instinct seem to be the easiest ones to find where I'm at. I usually look in music CD lots and try and spot them out.

Does anyone know where I can find game soundtracks on CD? I'm having a hard time finding any....
I get odds and ends from Solaris Japan, not OSTs (I'd rather just download them), but they do have quite a selection.
