faria map possilbe copy?
Hi,
I want your opinion about a mail away faria map that I bought in 2013. For the comparison, I refer to a scan of the map on digital press : http://forum.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?172952-Faria-(NES)-the-Mail-Away-Map-many-had-never-seen-and-some-in-this-era-fought-to-keep-from-you-(downloads-inside). I also have taken picture of mine.
This is why I think the map is a copy :
The color yellow and blue of the faria logo in not the same and the pattern in the yellow logo is not there. The red R in nintendo licencial is not visible.
This is why I think the map is authentic :
The number of the cave is very different, more darker and clear to read. I think nexoft make a second revision of the map because some people complain about the difficulty to read them. Also, there is a dark spot added under the left red arrow of the sky world that is missing in the first map.
Why someone who make a copy will change the number and added this dark spot?

The paper feel like a paper sheet but less thicker. I have taken picture of the both side of the map and attached them.
1. My map feels kind of soft like a dollar bill. Definitely not like a sheet of paper.
2. Also I can't tell if it's because your scans are just blown up, but those dots of color look like they were done by a modern bubble jet printer. I can't make out seperate points of color on mine.
3. Also your margins (the white space around the printed area) is a lot thinner on the bottom edge of the map.
4. The Faria logo looks way too dark and saturated compared to mine. Should be lighter and more "pastel".
5. I don't know if they would have all been folded the same. But your creases are in totally different places than mine.
6. My paper is off-white while yours looks bright white.
After checking the paper more, it is more than a dollar bill texture.
As you can see the yellow pattern is really clear. But I do not have it on my map. Because of this, I do not think my map is authentic. Collectors, take care! It seem to have some of these copy on the market.
