Price check on black Secret Scout

Help me out here, I got a deal working, but I havn't seen one of these in so long I don't really know what to do.

  • Are you the one who made a $75 offer on the one on ebay? That is probably too high for a black cart only...
  • That's me! To high huh? Been a while since I have seen on. One of the last few I need.
  • i read somewhere that the blue cart is actually rarer than the black cart, any truth to that? I paid $60ish for my blue one about a year ago and they rarely pop anymore, i don't really think $75 is too bad of a price, but if you can get it for about $10 less, it would be about right on.
  • I would say $60 is fair. I always thought the blue cart was rarer, not sure though.
  • I've been under the impression that the blue Secret Scout carts were rarer than the black, but it seems that in most other Color Dreams carts, the black is generally more rare than the blue. Kinda weird.
  • From what I can gather they used the black carts late in production. Secret scout and OSS were the last two color dreams carts, so it would make sense that a lot of them would be black. The earlier releases would be mostly blue.
  • Yep, blue SS is harder to find, but that's the exception for Color Dreams games; every other title with a color variant is rarer in black.
  • I think they are about equally as hard to find. I see them in both colors on about the same regularity to be honest. I think that the game is worth about 65-70 so I don't think 75 is a crazy offer either.

  • The blue is rarer... I have seen about 2 to 1 Black versus blue. I have had about 6 of these with 4 black and 2 blue. However the true tough part here is the damn box and manual. Easily both should be considered in the hardest NES items to find. Thank God I have both blue and black CIB as I've never had an extra box and only had one extra manual. For Black I think $65-70 is fair. For blue I would go as high as $75-85.
  • I would of sworn the black was rarer. I think i have seen about 3 times as many blues as i have blacks
  • I still am saying they are close to the same....

  • agree the box is not easy to find
  • I think the blue is rarer, but not by much. Heck, getting either one these days, especially with the box and/or manual, is a task.
