What is this? What does it do?

Fits into GBA. I tried it in a DS Lite and GBA Micro. It did the same thing in both consoles.
I attached it to a TV, but nothing showed up on the TV screen. The console booted to the normal intro screen that says "Game Boy Nintendo". Then it goes to a screen that says "write register 15, 16, 17, 18, 19". It says some other stuff, but it flashes too quickly for me to read it. Then it goes to a fuzzy screen, then quickly changes to a turquoise screen. The fuzzy and turquoise screen says "AV2" in the top right corner.
Any idea what this thing is or what it is supposed to do? I bought a bundle of stuff and this was thrown in with it.

You can hook an nes or snes to the gameboy screen with it.

It's an av adapter for a gameboy advance sp I believe.
