Diddy kong racing NOT FOR RESALE - Unusual label - no text logo.

I just found this cartridge which has the Not for resale box, but there is no text in the little red box.

This would normally have the NOT FOR RESALE in it.

At first I thought the text had been scratched off or covered with liquid paper.

But after close inspection, it seems more like glue remnants.

The label seems undamaged and I rubbed it a little with my thumb and the glue almost seemed like it wanted to come off.

So it might look like there was once a sticker there. I am in french canada territory so maybe this cart had a french variant of the sticker?

Anyone has seen something like this before?

    Yea, it just looks damaged / covered. There is clear discoloration there.

    It was definitely scratched off. You can still see remnants of the letters if you look close. Here's a mint condition one.

    I think you guys might be right, I think it was scratched. But that is still a very surgical scratching job. The paper feels smooth and the rectangle itself does not seem affected. I would be expecting to see clear scratching marks.

    Im not game to try goo gone on it just to see if the mark would come off, it probably would not anyway.

    It is not in the best of condition in any case. Sun fading and label nicks.

    I don't think that happened by accident and for that reason I think it is very strange case indeed. Have you tried playing the cartridge?

    Yes this is my guess at this point. Not sure what tool was used to erase it. Maybe en electric rotating eraser?

    I have not actually tried it yet but I do not expect anything out of the ordinary.

    As crappy as the labels are on these carts id think it was just a simple rub out with a eraser prob one of those white ones. I also agree with Daria someone thought they couldn't sell it with it it printed on there, same person probably refuses to cut tags off mattresses as well.
