The same Teen Titans game on Gamecube is a ton less. Wonder what the difference is?
There was a thread somewhere about this, SA has an XBox thread might be there. IIRC the Xbox plays in a higher resolution and it's the only one of the NGC, PS2, and OGXB to do that.
The original Xbox was one of my favorite systems growing up. Loved Knights of the Old Republic and Halo 2. I pick up games that are cheap and look fun. Over the past 10 years or so I have collected about 150-200. I need to put up shelves for my 360 and original xbox stuff.
Anyone else buy the goddamn "media kit" or whatever it was called? Basically a remote and receiver so you can play DVD's. Even as a kid I knew that was ridiculous. lol

And the "Music Mixer" so I could transfer music files from my PC.
I'm on a huge OG Xbox kick right now. I've got multiple systems modded, and a bunch of controllers. I'm rallying the troops for some serious system-link action in the near future!
Since my boxes are modded, I'm not worried about collecting games so much. But, I'm all about collecting controllers and oddball peripherals. My goal by next year is to have a complete and functioning Steel Battalion rig.
is XB-connect still up? if so we should have a NA Halo Lan somenight.
Hell yes I'm collecting original XBOX! I used to have almost 100 games but sold them in 2007 to get down payment $$ for a car. I'm now back up to 33 games and still going! I'm starting with the most common stuff first since they are dirt ass cheap and very available. I'm guessing the value will go up for some games but it's likely the common stuff will be pretty cheap for a long while.
P.S. I still have an adaptor that let's me use PS2 controllers on my XBOX and it makes games so much better! I believe it's made by Pelican? I need to find it if anyone is interested in a pic of it for reference.

I also sold off the brunt of my Xbox collection (About 35 games) in 2006-2007ish to Gamestop. I think they gave me about $60 and 100% of the money literally went to gas and alcohol for a party that night. I got laid by some random chick that night, and I always think back on my Xbox collection, and say, "Thanks buddy."
These days I only have about 12 games and no OG Xbox to play them on, but I am always telling people that now is the time to collect these.

Usually when Gamestop bleeds you for pennies on an entire collection, it is related to a bad memory... at least you have a prime outcome after selling. Haha
I was lucky and a couple years ago saw an OG Xbox and 12 good common games (Halo, Crimson Skies, etc.) sitting in my apartment laundry room with a "Free" sign on it. Snagged it up and love playing golf games like Links 2004 and Serious Sam!!!
Links 2004 is an awesome underrated golf game. Still play it from time to time. Another pseudo sports game that me and my mates play is deathrow awesome Sports/Fighting game.
I'm planning on grabbing all the exclusives, but all I own for the original XBOX right now is a disc only copy of Halo 2 that was inside a copy of Halo 3 that I bought at a thrift store.
Dont worry, as soon as prices start going up, you will want one.
Nah. I collect stuff I like, stuff I might like to play. There's quite literally nothing on original Xbox I have a desire to play.
Ah, there's some gooD games on the system. I don't collect for it anymore myself. Have maybe 5.games I actually bought off here a while backm sold my system and games back in the day.
I have a very very very mild interest in Panzer Dragoon Orta, but I really doubt I'd ever play it.
Orta is amazing. If you like Panzer Dragoon Zwei, you have at least got to try Orta

I bolded a few that might be worth looking into, as they aren't really well known games. Except maybe Jet Set, that's a bit more popular with retro fans.. still, it's beyond awesome
One of the biggest problems with the OG xbox is that alot of its really great games are also on the PC. Stuff like Halo, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Max Payne, Fable, etc all have PC counterparts. The xbox was powerful and did a great job measuring up, but nothing can top the added freedom of a PC version (improved frame rates, higher resolutions, and mods). SO, if you are someone who will opt to not own a console version and go pc the xbox library takes a big hit. If you would rather console only, there are tons of Gamecube/PS2 gems that are much better on the box; like the splinter cell games. Still, there are quite a few niche exclusives - like Gunvalkyrie and Phantom Dust. The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is also exclusive (if memory serves there's only a GBA counterpart to this one, and its quite different)
Yeah, I'm mainly a PC gamer when it comes to more modern stuff, so that rules out a lot of those games. There are a few others, like Ninja Gaiden, that have superior remakes on PS3, so that rules then out. And I've got some stuff like House of the Dead and Metal Slug on other systems, including most of Metal Slug on MVS. We did have Shenmue 2 for a while, but sold it. Rather have the DC version, anyway.
Pretty much what I've maintained all along about Xbox. There's just nothing there I really care about. Xbox games have just never held much appeal to me. Very few true exclusives. Hell, the only reason we have a 360 is because of the oddly impressive collection of shoot em ups.
Ninja Gaiden Superior remakes on the PS3? Where's the fat lady meme with the WUT!!!. IMO the PS3 Ninja Gaiden's Sigma's are in no way superior. Easier sure by a mile, but the extra boss battles did in no way make Ninja Gaiden Sigma better than Ninja Gaiden Black. Also collecting the gold scarabs got you extra costumes, whereas Ninja Gaiden OG, and Ninja Gaiden Black gave you the SNES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy emulated perfectly, the Original Ninja Gaiden Arcade Beat em up far more better bonus than costumes. and yes I beat and played both Sigma's and they are IMO Trash compared to the OG Xbox Ninja Gaidens.
For a long time I've pretty much neglected the original Xbox, but recently I've been finding out there were a lot of really good games on it. With the prices being so low now I think it's time to finally give it the space in my collection it deserves. Thinking about it I don't think I've collected for systems in that era as much I should, I have a ton of major gaps in my PS2 collection.
No Problem and no offense taken Lamrn15. It's just that most people IMO who only experience the PS3 and not the OG Xbox versions and "Beat" both or them can really see that one version is better than the other. I'll give the Sigma series it's due in that it has a little bit tighter controls, an a slight Uprez to the Graphics and the 2 extra boss battles are kinda fun but doesn't really add anything more to the narrative, or what little there was to begin with, and more accessible and easier to beat. I choose the Harder Difficulty not due to the Camera but to the enemies, SNES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy cheapest way to play it aside from Emulators and the real cart, and Ninja Gaiden Arcade also the only way to play it officially and not thru emulation IMO make it a more valued proposition than a remake of a remake and oh yeah Ninja Gaiden Black doesn't look to shabby at all.
Yes! It's Microsofts first, and in a lot of ways, their best. No online for 99.999% of content, a very VERY cheap library, and plenty of exclusives that hold up very well today. It's gonna take off next year I guarantee it.

The rpg games although seem to be very good, I'm just not a fan. The biggest joy I get from this unit is the fact that its a mini MAME machine

I enjoyed them well enough and I'm not a big enough NG fan to track down another console and the games to test them out.
I used mine when I had the original disc mailing Netflix to rip dvds so I could mail them back right away then watch them off the hard drive
