Favorite small console?

Does anyone have a favorite small console? I love the adorable look of the PC Engine, the PS2 Slim, and the GBA micro, but when it comes to compactness, what fits your ideal design?

  • I'm generally not a fan of the slimmed down versions of systems, but the Gameboy Micro is pretty damn sexy.
  • The GBA SP was pretty amazing, SNES games in your pocket.
  • AV Famicom/NES Toploader. Love my AV Famicom
  • Awe man I've wanted a micro for a while now. A local shop had one of the Famicom editions for 150, but they couldn't find the power cord. The guy said he'll look for it and give me a call back. A week later and no call so I thought OK I'll call and see. He said oh yeah, I haven't even looked yet. Like I get running a store is a lot of work but that's a 150 dollar sale your losing, don't they want my money? Anyways I also like the av Famicom and genesis 3. I like the cdx but I don't think I'll be able to get one judging by the price.
  • From an aesthetic standpoint, GBA SP. from a functional standpoint, PSP.
  • I'll second the CDX vote. PSOne w/screen & battery would be my second choice.
  • NES styled GBA SP with the upgraded screen easily wins. GB Micro might have beaten it if it could play original GB carts.

Agreed as well. I miss my cdx

  • +1 for psone love
  • I really like the gameboy micro as others have mentioned. Another small console I really like is the Vita tv, it has a nice small, sleek, compact design that i really like and it is nice to play vita games on the big screen.
  • PC Engine (1987)

    Game Boy Micro (2005)

    Sega CDX (1994)
  • GBA SP or PS2 Slim
  • I love the GBA Micro. I got it right when it came out. It's tiny and beautiful.
  • Multi mega.
  • PSone with the LCD screen is a thing of beauty, but my vote is for the AV Famicom. Original Famicom is already compact, if only it had frontal controllers.
  • Does the Nvidia Shield Portable count? It has saved me a ton of desk space.
  • I like my gameboy micro. I've got my new gba ever drive in it right now
  • Atari 5200. Oh wait. Nevermind
  • Now that I own a GBA Micro, I change my answer to that. So comfortable and stylish.

I like this answer. I will agree with it.
  • Turbo Express. Only paid a few bucks for mine and it's simply awesome with a Turbo Everdrive.
  • Is it just me, or does the Turbo Express look like something you'd use on a golf course? Don't ask me why, it just gives off that vibe.
  • I actually think the PSOne is cute when compared to the PS1. But I don't really care for slim versions of systems.

I like this answer. I will agree with it.

I did the unthinkable and added a DSL battery and USB port for charging to my NES GBASP.

  • You know y'all can complain about the OG famicom all you want, I still love mine and don't mind the controller cord length.
