Storing loose NES and SNES manuals

I'm looking for a good solution for storing loose NES and SNES manuals... what do you guys use?

I think maybe a plastic case for holding index cards might work for NES. I'm looking for something that will store well and be accessable for get a manual out, not just pack away.

  • I use the plastic box protectors that are used for cib's works well for me, but if your really anal some people sell baggies for manuals so you could combine both methods for ultimate protection.

edit: didn't read your whole thread. I suppose if you organize them and label the protector you could have some sort of sorting system.
  • Well there's several ways you could do it. You can always put them in a photo album and put a bit of cardboard behind them to prevent any creasing, or you can do some research and find a site that sells legit manual protector sleeves and put a cardboard back on them as well. I haven't personally bought them, but I've seen them used in trades before so I know they exist.
  • I usually stuff mine into the dust sleeves
  • I second the photo album approach.
  • Binder with clear photo sleeve pages. Protection and easy access, plus would make for one hell of a coffee table book.

    something like that
  • I store my NES manuals inside of a couple clam shell NES cases.

    Beat me to it.
  • I don't store them anywhere special, I just put them on top of my Game Boy boxes for some reason. I only have a few though, like 4 or 5 loose manuals
  • Storing? COLLECTARD!
  • For SNES manuals I use baggies and then put them on Box protectors

I don't collect NES manuals, just carts, the few I have are all in a single clam shell NES case

    This is super sleek!

I just use baggies and NES cases.
  • I "store" my manual either in the original box or if NES, I slip it into the dust sleeve that the game sits in.

Otherwise, the rest are in a shoe-box. Nothing fancy needed.
  • yea mine are in the dust sleeves as well.

Actually, he should probably be vacuum-sealing those things and burying them in a UV-resistant strongbox in his backyard. They're worth money, you know! They should never be looked at!

  • How well do those photo album sleeves work for manuals?

You'd need customgamecase.com to get the manuals in the case with the game.
Manuals don't fit well in the ugc, especially ones with a lot of pages.

Crap really? Well I'll look into those. I thought ugc were the only ones available. And bit boxes but they're just for nes games
  • There are bitboxes for SNES and N64 now.
  • I'm using the NES cases from customgamecases.com as well. I used to use UGC for NES, but they require extensive modificaiton to get a game to fit and the manuals are loose. I still use UGC for SNES and N64 simply because I don't have to modify the cases and I don't have that many manuals anyway. However, the NES game case creator is planning to eventually cover SNES and N64 as well.
  • I keep mine in a small case along with a few NP guides I've picked up. The weight of the guides works well to flatten out.... imperfect?... manuals lol

    No more loose nes manuals

Can they hold games with their dust cover on?

    No.

  • Here are some pictures of the NES cases from customgamecases.com. I was selected to test out a sample while these were in the design phase. Since then I've received my actual cases which are exactly like the sample. The second to last pictures is a comparrision between the NES case (left) and an older UGC (right). Bonus: They also hold SNES games pretty well (last picture).
