Repro or nah?

Hey guys, need a little help from the sleuthy experts here at NA. I've just come across this copy of Sculptors Cut on Ebay (if you keep an eye on the Buyer's Forum you know I'm trying to hunt down a copy), but the label looks kind of suspect to me. It appears to have that dotty comic book look to the colouring, and I obviously don't want to buy anything other than the real McCoy. I messaged the seller and asked if it was a repro, and they replied that they didn't believe so, and that they'd got it from a box of games in a storage locker. So my question is, repro or nah? Any help is appreciated. Link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Clay-Fighter-Sculptors-Cut-Blockbuster-Exclusive-Nintendo-64-1998-/281838500300?hash=item419ee239cc:g:ZsYAAOSw5ZBWLNku

  • Front label looks fake to me (for the reasons you mentioned). Ask for board pics for a definitive answer; if he doesn't give them I'd pass.

Dont know many fake n64 boards out there so that wont help.

The label can easily be faked.

Im not saying they dont exist, just that it is not near as a common thing. Fake labels are a rampant problem. A board would be easy to check when you got it to confirm. That would not be my primary concern at all.  The labels are getting tougher

Ugh, I honestly cannot stand fakes and even 90% of repros. I can understand if it's a ROM that was never released (there are lots of scrapped/unreleased Virtual Boy games etc), or a homebrew game like Cornball C*cksuckers or something, but doing a repro of a game just because it's on the hard-to-find side bothers me. Always seeing bogus copies of Earthbound, Hagane, Little Samson etc popping up. I cant imagine how many people get ripped off and don't even know it.
