yooo just got these bck from VGA. This is definitely the best games I ever graded. I am just grateful that my Pokemon games got gold grades. Let me know what you think.
P.S if anyone can help me find these last 4 US VGA gold grades that would be awesome. I am missing a Pearl, Platinum, White and a Blue 90. Thanks a lot guys truly appreciate it. Take care.
I was talking with my brother yesterday who is a big comic book collector and he has been getting some gems graded lately. Out of curiosity I asked him if there had ever been a 10.0 comic grade and then this raised another question for me. Can anyone tell me if there has ever been a 100 on a game? I have seen a few 95's but I have noticed the majority seem to be around 85. I do not own any graded games and I am not sure of the specifics on them. Just curious if a 100 is possible.
It seems to me that VGA recently tightened requirements to condition of the items. Got 70 for my snes system instead of the expected 80, i have another one snes graded 75 but it looks a bit worse than graded 70 for me.
Hey finally got a gold graded LeafGreen. If anyone can help me find these games that would be awesome. Still missing Pearl, Platinum, and White. If anyone has these games VGA gold graded and willing to sell please pm me. Or if anyone has these games raw and if its worthy of a gold grade contact me. Thanks homies
I have a VGA-related query. I sent off my Starwing Competition Cart (UK Variant) to have it graded but they simply popped it in a case with a 'NG' sticker attached to it.
I sent them an email to find out why this has happened but, rather predictably, no reply. Hoping you guys in the know, can shed some light on this.
Honestly I'd expect all cartridge only games to get the NG grade. The only specific example I can think of that did not follow that rule was the NWC Gray that got 85+, bearcatdoug's old copy.
You should clarify your expectations before submitting instead of after. Take it as a lesson learned.

Why the attitude? I asked a simple question. If you didn't know the answer (and I'm guessing from your response that you don't) why reply at all?

When you send in a non sealed item I am almost positive it's only for the purpose of pricing authenticity or preservation. I don't think they give grades to non sealed items ever. Minus the NWC Jone had mentioned

Thanks for the info, bud. I saw a graded Starwing Competition Cart online, which surprised me. I'm guessing it's just luck of the draw
Does the VGA consider sun-fading on a sealed game? if yes, how much? i have a game which is in MINT, perfect condition but a bit sunfaded - will they grade it lower?

can someone give an answer to that? might be interesting

Well yes it is definitely a flaw. If could could choose between two games with Mint boxes and wrap, one sunfaded and one not, which one would you pick?
How much you are penalized I have no idea. IMO, it should be impossible to get a Gold grade on a sunfaded game. Sunfading is a huge flaw that affect an entire side of the box.

As others have said we do consider sun-fading a flaw and it will affect the grade.

But how can you tell if a box is really sunfaded or just a bad quality of the box print? How can you tell how much sunfade there is? Do you have reference covers?

Yeah they have references/mint covers that the graders go off of.
Do you or anyone else here know if VGA keeps population reports for Latin American -LTN releases separate from the USA versions or doesn't anyone at VGA check that kind of thing when they grade a game?
I was looking at some completed listings and this seller claimed that there were only 3 graded copies of Death and Return of Superman, but I don't see any mention that it isn't a USA release anywhere on the case and the Latin "Made in Mexico" version is pretty common sealed compared to a real Made in Japan USA release and the populations shouldn't be mixed and I was curious how that works.

I opened it, it looks 100% brand new.
I also sent in a very nice Generations Lost that only came back a 75.
When you look through the case at it, it looks case fresh, I don't understand.
Oh well, I can take a hint, this will be the last time.
Edit: also, if you'd never submitted before, it's very expected that you would get a lower grade than you anticipated.
I only collect Genesis stuff and scrutinized the pin connectors of the game with a jeweler's loupe.
VGA just seriously fucked me out of my sealed GSH.
I am quite dumbfounded.
The first picture was mainly to show the refusal - I had already opened that game at that point.

That sucks man. Did you eat the Fruit Roll Up at least?

True! They knocked me down a few pegs on the first ones for sure.

Do they only grade Licensed stuff? Considering buying my first sealed game for a VGA but it's an unlicensed game.
Of course they will. It's only some newer NA'ers that think that unlicensed games don't count.

Depends on the game, but usually it's separate by release location.
